Backpacker here. My usual freeze dried chicken company has been out of stock for ages, so I stumbled upon Nutristore's "grilled" chicken and thought I'd give it a shot. Was planning to make fajitas on my next backpacking trip. I was blown away by how good this is, just ordered another can for longer upcoming trips with my kid.To make fajitas, I carried in fresh diced red onion and green and red bell pepper, probably a cup of the chicken, a packet of Old Elpaso fajita seasoning, some fresh grated cheddar, salsa, Chipotle corn salsa I dehydrated, and flour tortillas. Sautéed up the veggies in my MSR backpacking frying pan over my Pocket Rocket camp stove (on a very low flame, adding a little water), then added the chicken and some more water, cover with a piece of foil, stir occasionally till the meat is soft. Added the fajita seasoning packet and some water, it cooked down to a nice sauce. Probably the best backcountry meal I've ever had. Will be adapting for shipping in resupplies, and also ordering the pulled pork to try pulled pork fajitas as well!

I use this for lazy cooking at home, but I initially got it for trekking\backpacking.I can eat it as is with water or can soak it in cold (or hot) water. This is great for me, as I do not carry a stove while backpacking.I order it twice so far and will likely order it again

Excellent tasting. A must buy. I have other containers of this product and I am very pleased. Times are very hard, if you can afford to purchase this freeze dried chicken then please do it. The cost of this product is expensive but the fact that it last for 25 years is priceless.

Good product overpriced.

Only problem is a little too much salt.You can eat it right out of the container just take a sip of water every once in a while.

Great convenient source of protein to have on hand. I used this chicken in our families favorite Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo recipe and it was a hit. Do let it hydrate in warm water for the full 15-20 minutes. I tested them early and they still had a crunch. I added a bit more water, waited a few more minutes, warmed them up and they were moist and tender.

I really love this get your meat first and then get your vegetables . You can make a meal after meal .. .when You get low you will a always have it . ..just got to have water . That is it . !!!!

Haven’t used it yet bought them in case of emergency we would have something to fall back on

I used this product on the west coast trail as an add-to for the freeze dried meals I already had. I also did meals with dried veggies and soup base. Hydration was not an issue when you use boiling water.Chicken by itself tastes no different than plain raw chicken breast.
