Better for smaller breeds
While my pup was small these worked pretty good. Not perfect, but good. As he got older and MUCH bigger these pads could barely contain his liquid, no matter what the packaging states. Sometimes my dog will pee like a pony and overwhelm these pads. I had to find something larger and more capable, and hopefully less expensive. But for smaller breeds of dogs these should work fine. I have all carpeting in my apartment so I cannot speak of the adhesion quality of these pads. Others will have to chime in on that.

These really truly don't leak and are fantastic!!!
These are the greatest dog potty pads! All of the other brands leak if the dog pees too close to the edge. I had always assumed that was inevitable, but THESE DON'T LEAK EVEN WHEN THE DOG PEES RIGHT ON THE EDGE!! These obviously are made with sorcery because that's the only explanation for their magical absorption abilities. My dog has some kind of know-where-the-edge-is impairment and ALWAYS pees right smack on the edge like she has no idea her rear end is located further behind her than where her head and front legs are standing. Potty Pad Blindness. It's a terrible disease and my chihuahua has a severe case. After 13 years of trying everthing to outsmart her edge-peeing disability and losing the ongoing battle with every potty pad brand, this has been the cure! I used to use the Arm & Hammer pads as they were least leaky and smelly and could stand up to multiple uses, but the edges still leaked and they began to smell after she peed only a few times. These pads are amazing. I've been using them daily now for several months and not a single leak!! Even when I saw her peeing directly on the very edge - it somehow magically sucked the urine into the pad. My chihuahua can pee on one XL for 2-3 days (she exclusively uses potty pads because she doesn't like sun or clouds or rain or heat or cold, refuses to go outside or move from the sodewalk if forced outside - and will then come back inside and pee on the floor somewhere because she was forced outside - and will only tolerate touching icky grass on that one perfect-weather-for-peeing day each year!) and they don't smell at all and easily contain 10-15 chihuahua-size peeings, so I'm positive they would work well for a large dog using them more than once. They are about twice the size of other brands' (and this brand's) standard pads. I love these pads!!

Excellent in controlling leakage!
I have a senior kitty who recently had a seizure and was put on medication to control future seizures. The drug presented her with mobility issues for a few weeks as her body acclimated to the drug, so getting into the litter box and keeping her fanny inside became a problem, and she was occasionally peeing over the edge of the box onto the litter mat. I had another brand of pee pads that worked perfectly well if it wasn't peed on near the edges. This brand indicated that they don't leak, and WOW - they are right! My kitty has adjusted back to her regular litter box usage, but I still keep the pee pads in place between the box and the litter mat 'just in case'.I highly recommend these if you want the 'deposit' to stay in the pad and not leak off the edges onto whatever other surface is underneath. My rating on the thickness was more related to "this doesn't really apply to me", and certainly not a downside.

Helps protect dog and surfaces
My elderly dog was diagnosed with IVDD, a serious, progressive disk disease that has reduced my dog's ability to stand and walk. As a result of her condition, her frequent "potty" accidents have caused me to wash countless loads of laundry to keep her clean when she is resting or sleeping on old blankets and quilts that I lay on the floor for her. These gel pads are the only product that I have found that actually reduces the moisture that touches the dog's fur after an accident; the gel pad helps to wick away the moisture from her fur and protects the blanket completely from moisture so that it does not have to be laundered as often. This product is good for those short periods of time when I can't be home to assist the dog to "do her business" outside. These do not completely protect the dog, and I would not want anyone to think that you can leave your sick dog lying on one of these gel pads for an extended period of time. They are a temporary solution for care of the dog, but they are an excellent solution for care of the blankets, quilts, or other fabrics protected by the gel pad. The main advantage is not as a health solution but as a laundry solution.

Sometimes You Just Need a Little Help
One of my cats has a little problem using the litter box. Thelma marches to a different beat : ) and when she uses the litter box she stands right up against the end and "lets go," resulting in urine landing on the floor and not the litter. I have high-sided boxes, but she manages to get her little butt as high as it needs to go in order to miss the box. The only solution would be to get a "top-entry" litter box (which I have had) but my other cat Maddie HATED it so much that she found she would rather urinate on a rug than use that kind of box. So, the only solution I have is to use the absorbent pads under the litter boxes. They work well and keep my floors clean. I also use them under my dog's water bowl because he's quite a sloppy drinker. I have a unique crew of furbabies and I'm thankful there are products out there that help with their issues.

Better then most.
I have a 19 year old cat that is in stage 2 kidney failure. She has had problems with clumping kitty litter sticking to the pompoms on her feet causing her feet to become sore. I have been using the pads in a litter box plus a sifting one with pine litter. She seems to prefer the pads. I change them once or twice a day. I recommend these pads if you have a cat with sensitive feet. They prevent puddles on the floor.

Not what it used to be
Ive been using these pads for 7 years, various ones some from amazon and one from costco.Dollar for dollar the costco ones are best, larger, more absorbance, cheaper and better made. These hartz used to be made better, hold more liquid, now you can see the white part seems cheaper, there often folds once you open it up that stay in place, doesn't really flatten out, just not well made.I also use the Amazon basic one thats the same size, its the same price but it consistency of quality is much better than this one (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00MW8G62E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)so get the amazon basic one or head over to costco and grab thiers.

NOT LEAK PROOF
With plenty of experience with dog training pads for adult miniature poodle weighing approx. 19 lbs rendered disabled after femoral head osteotomy 7 years ago, I verify that Hartz training pads are not leak proof. Confirmed more than once that my dog trained to "pee in the middle" followed its instructions. One round stain in the middle of the pad causes leak outside of the border and work to clean the floor. Because of its thinness and size I used one pad per visit. My dog is well trained, gets feedback and a treat after each visit. I am left with unopened second package of 100 pads, for return is not possible during quarantine, and I am am also disabled. Both I and the animal were used to Top Paws. not available during quarantine times. Very disappointed.

The absolute best Puppy Pee Pad
When we brought our boys home when they were 3 months we lived in a 3 story townhouse (little puppies have little bladders) so we took a large training cage/crate, put the puppy pads in it and put it on the balcony on the middle floor. It worked wonderfully! The gel in the pads make for no spillage or leakage as well as no odour. Five years later, although we are in a bungalow we still have their private little bathroom set up in the basement for them to use when getting outside in time is not an option. I wouldn’t even consider trying another brand.

My new favorite pee pad
These pee pads are a bit flimsy because they have a number of absorbency layers which can be annoying if you dog like to do a million circles before they potty. BUT, with saying this, the materials quickly absorb urine under the first layer into a gel. I rarely have any run off like most pads as they are equivalent to a sheet of paper towel so the urine sits on top top some time before being absorbed or rolls off on to the floor. The only time my pup has a little pee run off the pad onto the floor is if she totally mis judged where she lined up with the pad. I am really happy with this product and plan to stick with this one as it has made mu life so much easier! I would highly recommend !!
