I ordered these to use on the pottery wheel to smooth my pieces. A seasoned potter suggested the use of an old chamois, but we did not have one.I just used it first time and LOVED IT. I cut the rectangle chamois to fit my needs. I cut a narrow piece to smooth my top edge and the other part to help with my pulling up of the clay. I thought it helped my pieces look cleaner and so did my wheel neighbor(beginner also). I had extra chamois to share since the package has 10 pieces, I was able to share with my beginner wheel studio mates. I could feel the clay better than the usual sponge that our teacher had us using. I like the way they stay wet when my fingers got dry, I didn't have to use as much water to pull my clay up.Just make sure that you don't forget them in your clay water, they are about the same color.These little cloths are just the trick to step up my throwing clay game!
