Great Case for FreeNAS
Awesome case! This is a replacement case for my Fractal Design Node 804. That thing is a great case too, just way too big for my current needs. I plan on building a gaming rig for that eventually. Had something like this been around a few years ago when I first got into FreeNAS, I would have gone with this first. Love the hot swappable bays. Perfect for replacing drives in my zpool with zero down time.Regarding the inside:This case is super compact so be mindful in selecting your components. Mini-ITX boards only. I'm running FreeNAS on the ASRock E3C226D2I with a Xeon E3-1220 v3. There's only about an inch clearance (25mm) from the top of the RAM sticks to the hard drive compartment. The stock CPU fan that came with the CPU DID NOT FIT. Did some searching around for slim CPU fans and replaced it with the Rosewill 80mm Sleeve Low Profile CPU Cooler RCX-Z775. It fit, but the CPU was reaching temps over 90c under heavy load. I ended up going with the Corsair Hydro Series High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler H60 to draw the heat away from the CPU and out the back. Much more manageable temps now. Even tho the H60 claims to be slim, I still had to end up mounting the radiator on the outside of the case (see pics) since there is only about an inch (25mm) clearance between the internal fan and the back of the hard drive compartment. I suppose I could go with the Scythe Slip Stream Slim 120mm Case Fan (SY1212SL12L) and try to cram everything inside the case, but I like the idea with getting those 3,000 RPM industrial fans to really move the heat away from the drives. I am still currently on the stock rear fans which are fine, but I have plans to replace them with industrial fans. I got it tucked away in a closet so I don't mind the noise.Great product. Great build quality. I would highly recommend this case.

Well made small case, but difficult to work in.
I love the size of the case, and it looks great too. Getting the fully populated motherboard into it was very difficult. I'm using it with a FreeNAS build. The parts used for the build are:Processor: Intel Core Intel i3-6100T 3.2GHz 3MB Smart Cache LGA 35W Dual Core Processor Intel HD Graphics 530 (Tray Version) Motherboard: ASRock Rack Motherboard C236 WSI RAM: Crucial 16GB Single 2133MT/s DDR4 PC4-17000 Dual Ranked x8 ECC DIMM CT16G4WFD8213 / MTA18ASF2G72AZ-2G1A1 Storage Controller: LSI LOGIC SAS 9207-8i Storage Controller LSI00301 Fan: Noctua Low-Profile Quiet CPU Cooler for Intel 115x Based Retail Cooling NH-L9I A low profile fan is ABSOLUTELY necessary for this case. Even with this fan the fully populated Motherboard barely fits. Due to the size constraints I would highly recommend purchasing a low TDP processor as well. The case comes pre-wired with a SAS terminated cables to the drive backplane. The storage controller I listed above allowed me to use the wiring already installed in the case.Bottom line: Small case that looks great, but is difficult to work in.

Love It!
Amazing case for a DIY NAS build! I thought it would be much larger but it turned out to be very compact. Not a lot of space inside, but I still managed to fit 4 SSDs (it only has mounts for two). All in all the smaller form factor is exactly what I wanted and got. Excellent build quality and craftsmanship. Considering it comes with a nice power supply you can't go wrong for the price! I love this case!

Best Nas box ever.
Just awesome wanted a nas solution but also wanted an OS and the sleek look of a nas box. I love my seagate nas dual bay and when i tried to find the 8 bay there where none to be found or they are over 1k in price. Saw this and took the plunge. All in all love the fast shipping, the style of the box, and have full blown windows 8. I tried a low profile cooler and yeah cpu was toasty at 160 to 180F degrees at load and the 120 at idle. So i water cooled it.AsRock FM2a88x itx+AMD 7850k at 4.0Ghz8GB of AMD ramLSI sas 9211-8iIntel 80 GB SSD for OD Win 10Zalman 320 water coolingUsing speed fan to control speed of pwm fans
