**Q: doe this pump require head pressure to prime and pump or will it pump from a reservoir/tank in an open loop system?**
A: We have a hot tank boiler outside,  I do think these almost require no air, the type that you want i believe is a different pump.

**Q: will this pump work outside under rain?**
A: Can't work outside under rain

**Q: can i replace  Astro 230CI pump ?**
A: You will have to look up and compare gallons per minute and head to match closely

**Q: Is this for 1” pipe only or is there an adapter for smaller pipe?**
A: That is determined by the flanges that bolt to the pump, you can by 3/4" or 1" flanges , those you always buy seperatly.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Replaced Grundfos recirc Pump - Quiet!

In the last 5 years we have gone through two Grundfos UPS15-55SFC (1/12 hp) in stainless steel. They keep breaking as you can hear the bearing rattling in the housing. My plumber admits to this recurring problem with Grundfos. Replacement was $650 installed or $500 DIY. I found this pump 1/8hp with exact same specs and measurements. Easy to install since it is 6.5" from top to bottom and I have shut off valves on either end of the pump. Also nice to have the center screw that can be used to vent air from the system if needed. Hopefully this will last several more years than my Grundfos.
