Great for Special Needs/CVI
My son has cortical visual impairment and loves toys that light up and make music. This is perfect. SN kids can work on fine motor skills and also just enjoy some fun. It was a hit.

not good for 12 months and up
Not a good toy for 12 months old and up. When my son saw me unwrapping these toys, his eyes lighted up and I could see the excitement in him. However, after playing with them for 5 minutes or so, he never touched them again like a ball or a truck.Don't be fooled by the excitement of a 1 year old, they will always get excited when they get to touch/play with new things, but it is the continuation of playing with it or not that will matter. After all nobody wants to buy a toy, regardless of price, to be played for only 5 minutes or so.I can see how this will be good for younger babies, but not for a 12 months old and up. Of course, it also depends on your baby/toddler as well. As for me, this was a waste.

Great for teaching language
I run an autism center and this is a crowd pleaser lol. I love the different textures. There are so many things we can teach using this. My only negative is I wish the middle bar was cone shaped so that it would not be possible to put the smallest ones first.
