Not necessarily. Check your TV ports: This is a 3-plug AV cable. It requires a Yellow video port labeled "VIDEO" or "AV".If your TV only has 5 ports (Green/Blue/Red/Red/White): These are Component ports (YPbPr) and are NOT compatible with this cable.

Why is my picture black and white?

A black-and-white image usually means the Wii output is set to HDMI or Component. Go to: Wii Settings > Screen > Output Mode > select AV (Composite). Also confirm the yellow RCA plug is in the yellow VIDEO port on your TV -- not a Component input.

Does this support HD or 480p output?

No, this is an AV composite cable supporting 480i standard definition only. It does NOT support 480p or any HD resolution. For HD output you would need a Wii-to-HDMI adapter.
