My First Science Kids Science Experiment Kit

When first opened, I thought this was just an overpriced color mixing set. Now that my 5 year old has played with it so much in the last week, I realize it's more than meets the eye! She already knew her primary and secondary colors so I thought this wouldn't hold her interest. However, she loves using the "water squirter" (pipette) to mix the colors then add the plentiful bag of beads to make water crystals. The test tubes, pipette, and mixing tray will still be able to be used long after the color tablets are gone. The instruction booklet doesn't explain as much science as I would've liked, but it's still helpful. Fun kit!

I see other reviewers complaining about the magnifying glass. It works well if you know how to use one. People, you aren't supposed to put it up to your eye! You're supposed to put it on the object that you're looking at, and you look through the glass from arm's length. If you put it near you eye it sucks, but so do ALL magnifying glasses. I thought it worked impressively well. My 4 your old loved this science kit. We got days of fun out of it, and she was fascinated by all the easy experiments. My only complaint is that I now want to buy a ton more!

This is a great first science kit, but it is something you will need to sit down and do with your child at 4 years old. My 4 year old son and my 6 year old daughter loved doing the experiments with their grandpa and had fun, but grandpa wasn't there to read the directions and guide each thing step by step, it would've just been a big mess. It's great for learning and exploring, but i gave it 4 stars just because I think the age appropriateness should've been for 6+. My daughter, who is 6, probably could've sat and read the directions and did things as she was suppose to. I don't think my 4 year old has those type of patience, yet.

I love this. It comes with everything you need. It is easy to do the experiments and they are so fun! This is the greatest thing to get in quarantine.

This kit is OK, but so far the experiments did not really capture the interest of my 4 yr old. He does seem excited to do the experiments but then he does not find them very interesting. Maybe if he could use the "magnifying glass" supplied with the kit it would make it more interesting, but since it is a joke (it is really small - not at all what the kit cover artwork makes it look like) it is actually pretty useless for a child his age.I also don't understand why the color tablets come as 1 round tablet per color and the supervising adult has to cut it into 4 pieces... this was a little annoying to do and may lead to mistakes like I've read in some reviews where people didn't fully read the part about cutting the tablet and just used the whole thing on the first experiment. Why not just supply 4 smaller tablets of each color instead to begin with?

This set is awesome! It has high quality materials, easy instructions, and enough supplies to do each experiment three times! Lots of fun and learning for little scientists!

Our niece is four and we bought this for her as a Christmas present. She wanted to do it immediately but had to wait. She has tried all the experiments and loved them all! She is hard to entertain for long periods of time, but this did the trick. I’m glad we found this on amazon for an affordable gift.

Bought this for my 3 year old grandson. He loves doing the experiments. His mom loves how easy the experiments are to do with the items included.
