Beautiful pendant!!
When I saw the pendant I fell in love! And when I received it I proved I wasn't wrong :) Of course, I read the other reviews complaining about the lock, so I've never tried to open it.It's a gorgeous pendant, I don't have any complains, good price, great service and amazing product :)

Looks okay from a distance, but...
I'm a little disappointed in this. After nearly five years of having it on my wishlist, I finally decided to order it for myself. But my excitement upon its delivery was short-lived, as a preliminary examination revealed that the globe was not only slightly lopsided, but encased in a layer of plastic, which detracts from the beauty of the stone and gives the whole thing a cheap look. As for the stones that comprise the globe, I wish they had been chosen more carefully. There's not much color variation--it looks as if the same type of stone was used for nearly all the landmasses, so it's less interesting to look at than I had hoped. In addition, the "continents" are just little blobs of color that only vaguely resemble the shapes of the actual continents. And in some cases, the location isn't even right; North and South America aren't connected, Africa is much farther from the Arabian Peninsula than it should be, and Europe is almost entirely absent. I realize that recreating such intricate shapes with accuracy is probably impossible on a scale this small, but it would be nice if it at least looked as if they had tried. When the globe is in it's cage, these problems are far less noticeable, so the pendant still looks nice when being worn. I just wish it was as pretty up close as it is from a distance--and as well-crafted as the image on the website led me to believe.

Very unusual, fabulous gift idea!
After eyeing this piece for months, I finally bought it on a whim. While it is very pretty (the itty bitty globe is just adorable and so precious), it is a bit smaller than I expected it would be. I was hoping for something larger and more attention-grabbing, but I hate to think how expensive it would have been, had it been bigger.I do enjoy wearing this piece, although I also wish the bail was a bit larger. I like to wear omegas better than chains, and this won't fit on any of my omegas, which was a big disappointment. I'm going to have to either buy a good thick silver chain, or a very slender omega. This is a necklace that definately gets comments, once people realize what it is, and I am definately going to keep it in mind as a gift-idea for friends, in the future.

Rusted!
This is one of those items that looks much better on picture than it is. I received an almost rusted pendant that was impossible to open (as they are advertizing). Don't waste your money!!

Cool stone, bad lock!
I bought this necklace for my wife and she loves it. The globe inside is a deep blue, and the continents are made up of different stones. The quality of the chain seems good, and the globe is not too bulky, so she can wear it comfortably without feeling like there is a giant ball hanging around her neck. The bad thing about this item is the lock that keeps the stone globe inside the case. It is just a little tab that clicks into a hole, but either the tab is not big enough or the hole is not deep enough. We have had the globe pop out five times now. Luckily it's been in the mall or while we were walking through a parking lot, so we were able to retrieve the globe every time. My wife is scared to wear it out of the house now, so it is just sitting on the dresser until we figure out how to rig the lock to make it hold better.

16 years and counting
I purchased this item from Silver Insanity back in 2005 for $17.99 and it is still one of my favorite pieces. Yes, the globe is not spectacular, but I usually wear it with my mystic agate sphere or radiant marble. The versatility is why I bought it in the first place -- to showcase my favorite sphere stones. The cage is well made, and yes, you have to polish and take care of the silver from time to time, but it is well worth the effort. Yes, the item has gotten more expensive, but the spot oz price for silver back in 2005 was $7.33. It is now $23. So they really haven't raise the price that much. So, to those of you who like special pieces that reminds you of the Orion necklace from Men In Black or even Hermione's hour glass necklace and prefer your clothing doesn't get caught in the moving pieces, this could be that.

Great piece of jewelry!
My wife loved this when I bought it for her and she almost always gets compliments on it when she wears it. In fact, she bought another one herself to give to a friend who liked it so much. The only issue is that the clasp on the cage tends to open easily and the globe can fall out, but a drop of gel superglue solved the problem - neither my wif nor I thought it was a big enough deal to knock the rating down.

I just received my pendant & it is beautiful. I had put it on my wish list for a long time & then finally gave in to purchase it. The only thing I thought the pendant came with a necklace ( mentioned in previous reviews) but it does not. Fortunately I have one that suits it perfectly. Will leave clasp closed for now due to other buyers experiences!
