Santa needs wool for his new coat and the coats of his elves. If you give Santa Claus wool on your turn, you may move him to a hex on the island of Catan. Once he arrives on the hex, he gives the settlers Christmas gifts and may even chase away the robber and/or to protect a hex! this expansion increases the strategic value of wool, which in the basic game is considered the least attractive commodity. This variant scenario is suitable as an add-on for up to 6 players and all expansions that include the robber.

Christmas in Catan!
Christmas in Catan, does it get any better? This was the perfect gift for my Catan loving family to open at the start of the Christmas season. We made up our own rules for Santa but he is really fun to play with!

Fun variant to an already great game!
This is a fun addition to the Cities and Knights Catan game! It's a nice variant and brings extra challenges and turn play to the game. It arrived promptly and just as stated. It is also a very reasonable price for an addition.

A fun add on!
I love the concept of this addition to Catan, however the Santa doesn’t stand up very well. He doesn’t fit in the cardboard and just falls over. I made a small wooden Santa similar to the robber that works a lot better! Overall it’s a fun addition to the game around Christmas time!

Fun seasonal addition
We play a lot of Catan around here. My granddaughter thought we needed Santa. She has now come up with the house rule Santa only gets to play during December. It does add a bit of seasonal fun to the game.

Festive Way to Spice Things Up
This is such a unique scenario! Super cool though. The instructions are inside of a Christmas card so you can actually put the whole set in the envelope to give as an easy gift.

Fun but could be higher quality
I gave this to my dad as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. It adds a fun twist to the game but is very easy to learn. It does not change very much in terms of gameplay. It would also be nice if the Santa Claus game piece was better constructed; it is unstable and does not stay standing very well.

Cool little scenario
Adds an interesting twist to Catan, either vanilla or with expansions. Especially fun around Christmas. Love the packaging as well.

Festive addition to Catan (and to Catan Oil!)
Santa mechanics aren't so overpowering that it'll feel like a whole new game while instead spicing it up. If you're a seasoned group and you've moved off from Catan, this can give it a little kick and bring back some of those good old memories. If you're new to Catan or if Catan is your group's game of choice, this isn't a very intimidating addition and can liven up the game when you add it from time to time.Side note: combines with Catan: Oil for a thematically hilarious and deceptively strategic game. Because Oil tends to be a steamroller game, where one or two players take the lead and nobody can catch up, Santa becomes a "catch up mechanic." As the big-wigs go for the oil, they're leaving the other players the option to go to Santa. And, unlike the real world's, Santa's north pole cannot be destroyed by ecological disaster!
