Q: What key is this chanter in?

The chanter is tuned to what might be called "standard" bagpipe tuning. The lowest note (all fingers down) is called a "G," but, it actually sounds more like a G#/Ab because bagpipes and chanters are not tuned to concert pitch: they are 30 - 40 cents higher. The notes come out as follows: A♭, B♭, C, D, E♭, F, G, A♭, B♭ (i.e. E-flat major; only really relevant if played with other instruments). Note that most music meant for pipes and chanters ARE NOT actually written in E-Flat. Chanters and pipes kind of do their own thing compared to most instruments.
