Q: Does this come with a gig bag?

I bought one (it was brand new) and it came with a gig bag.

Q: What wood is the body (laminate?) and neck made of? What wood is the fingerboard?

Hofner says it’s a Basswood body, which seems about right. The neck is maple, with no stripe. The fretboard is rosewood.

Q: No whammy bar. Tramollo is important for blues. 1 pickup, no pickup switch, sacrificing function for form factor.

An inexpensive travel guitar won’t have a vibrato arm, or as Leo Fender liked to call it, Tremolo. The pickup sounds nice for the money and should give a good basic sound for most styles. If you expect it to sound like a pre-cbs strat, then you’re not really talking about a cheap travel guitar. If you want a travel guitar that ticks all the boxes, get an Erlewine Lazer. It’s only $1500.00
