I'm cutting fringe!
I will confess that at first I was less than pleased, but now I am a happy customer. It took me a little while to get the hang of it and learn to use this tool properly. That done, however, I am cutting fringe in a fraction of the time it would take me using my old method. You must go slow and pull the leather through carefully and by pulling patiently back and forth so that material doesn't bunch up. I pull with a slight downward pressure and take my time. I watch how the leather is laying against the blades and keep it level and even. I also found that putting a 1/8th" space right next to the inside edge of the tool is unwise. Frankly, I need some heavier lacing anyway. This tool will make a significant job much more enjoyable and a lot quicker. This was a great investment for my heavily fringed early19th century Lakotah three hide dress project.

A must have!
I made all the lace on this purse using this lace maker!! It was so easy and fast!! I originally bought the little handheld lace maker and was so frustrated trying to use it!! Save yourself the headache and buy this one first! It's really great to have!

Good but missing parts
It’s takes a few tries but it works really well. My one complaint was it arrived without any blades and missing a nut. I was able to find these for my stock but I shouldn’t have to.

Very cool product
I haven't used this as much as I would have liked by now, but I've used it twice and like it very much. It takes a minute to figure out, and you do have to be very careful with the blades. But when you get it figured out, it's pretty easy. Just be patient while you're learning. It cuts smoothly and easily, and it is very adjustable. I can't wait to use it again. Such a cool tool to have on hand.

Cheaply made. No warranty. Minimal
Used since late June. The cast metal base broke… lasted about 3 months. Contacted Tandy for warranty. As I bought this on Amazon they will not stand by the product. Amazon says to contact Tandy. I’m stuck with a tool that is not usable.

Works very well!
I use this to cut purse straps from 6-8 oz leather. Works very well, seems well made so should last.

Easy to assemble and use
I was soo excited to purchase this lace cutter! It has made my leather at home business work faster and efficiently. The thickness or thinness of the cuts are simple perfect! Easy to assemble. Easy to use. Mounts perfectly and sturdiness is an A+

Don't be a victim of hubris like I.
I was really excited to use this device as I've been making leather cuffs with mystery braids in them. Cutting them out with a razor blade and a straight edge was getting really old, and wasn't yielding great results either. I immediately used this cutter on one of my patterned out pieces of leather and ruined it. I'm using 4.5-5.0 oz leather, and it desperately wants to pull and warp while you're drawing it through the blades. Do yourself a huge favor and add extra blades to serve as fences to guide the leather straight through the blades. For example, for a 3/8 strip that I want to cut into thirds, I have 4 blades, each 1/8 apart; 2 to cut the lace, and 2 to hug the outer edges of the strip to keep it from twisting and turning. Be careful with this tool. I'm determined to unravel its mysteries, but it is eager to ruin your projects, and I fear that it may hunger for blood as well.

I struggled to find a table top to screw this onto it doesn’t allow much room. Hard to use, I wanted it to make tables out of leather I’m back to just cutting it with a roller cutter

Nothing only that I think it should come with 10 blades I initially and not just 5, but a great tool!
