We purchased these solar cap lights to mount on a 6x6 stairwell post at a lake house pier. They really look nice and were easy to install. We particularly liked that the light section is actual glass. We recommend this product.

This solar powered post light may be the one to beat.My wife disliked the dim bluish light of two other products we tried first. This light is warmer (but can be switched to pure white), looks better, and is brighter than those we tried out from our local home depot store. The fact that each light comes with three mounting plates (4x4, 5x5 and 6x6) is a nice feature. We needed 4x4, but who knows what we will build in the future.The mounting plates are easy to attach and large enough to provide good protection from rain. The top easily detaches from the mounting plate. The light comes on automatically once it gets dark.In conclusion, worth the money.

Bought these to cap the rails of a back porch step. Despite never being in direct sunlight on the North side of the house, these still light up every evening at dusk and burn until 10:00 or 11PM. The "white" light setting is bright enough to illuminate steps, but the "warm" setting is too dim (although does glow for a much longer period of time.)While they look great and the panels have real glass, the body of these lights is entirely plastic. They feel a bit flimsy and I fear they won't survive the Winter freeze, but so far so good...Fits perfectly over 4" PVC posts right out of the box, with options for most other standard post sizes.A good inexpensive look, but for long-lasting construction, there may be better options.

Satisfactory other then the battery dyes half way through the night.
