I was wrong. I needed to replace my shower, and went for this under-$20 item with the thought that I'm risking too little, and can replace it if it doesn't satisfy me. Oh boy. It's a high-quality item, similar to those sold in home-improvement stores. My reviews usually include "Pros" and "Cons"; this time there is no cons. This is just a quality shower with a variety of patterns. Of the 6 patterns, set by 6 detents on the dial, one extreme position closes water flow almost entirely to a drip. It's a nice feature to save water, and may be enough for shaving, too. Another, the opposite extreme is a mist spray. The other 4 patterns are various jets. One of them is quite powerful, rather for cleaning the tub or the shower, or it can give you a much needed massage of specific points in the muscle after a sports exertion. The remaining 3 settings are for various strength of jets for regular showering. When you open the package, you may find that the large nut is too tight. Leave it for the last: you may hand-tighten the showerhead holder on the wall outlet pipe by hand. If it's loose, you'll need wide-jaw pliers to tighten the whole assembly on the pipe; if it's tight, you may loosen it a bit after hand-mounting. Use a strip of the earthquake drawer liner between plier jaws and metal, otherwise you'll scratch it. Do NOT use pliers on shower hose ends: these are designed to be hand-tightened. A tiny dab of KY jelly on all gaskets during mounting will prevent torsion when tightening and extend their life. Do not overtighten the main outlet pipe mount! This is the main cause of failing gaskets. When it's tight enough, quickly mount the hose and the shower, set it to the almost-closed position (clockwise to the end, IIRC), and SLOWLY open the COLD water valve. If water is dripping from the mains connection, tighten it 1/4 turn and check again. When you don't see a single drop of water growing at the connection, turn the nut 1/8 of the turn, and you're done. This is common to any shower mounting, not this particular one. What sets it aside is (1) you may nearly close the water flow at the head, which helps leak-checking and (2), believe it or not, there is a spare gasket in the box! There is also a small roll of white Teflon tape, but if your main outlet threads are in a good shape and the open end of pipe has uneven surface, you won't need it: it's the gasket that makes a connection water-tight. Anyway, it was super nice of the manufacturer to include these little widgets just in case you'll need them!

I had been using the shower with a fixed shower head for about a year, but ever since I switched to this DAKINGS shower head, I've started looking forward to my daily showers! When I direct the shower head onto my scalp or shoulders etc, it feels like I'm getting a mini massage. It's interesting to note that high-end salons use similar shower heads when they're washing hair, so having that amazing experience right at home, and for free, multiple times over is really a great deal. ・What's Great - Despite being affordable, the quality of the product is surprisingly high. - I get to enjoy that luxurious feeling of a salon-style hair wash in the comfort of my own home. - It easily reaches body parts that the old fixed shower head couldn't, making it really effective for a thorough clean. - It's not just for personal use; the extended reach also comes in handy for cleaning the bathroom. - It was very easy to install. I did not know the specific size for the pipe on the wall, but this fit perfectly. ・Room for Improvement - It might be a good idea to add a rubber seal at the connection point between the water pipe and the valve included with the product to prevent any potential water leakage. I noticed a minor leak when I turned up the shower water pressure. - The shower head has a bit of weight to it, so holding it with one hand for an extended period can get tiresome. - The mesh filters inside the pipe that comes with the product is a bit too small, leading to reduced water pressure. (I actually removed the filter to fix this.) - A slightly longer water flow cable would enhance the user-friendliness of the shower head even further.

This is the best shower head of its kind in its price range. I would say it's comparable to products twice as expensive. The shower head comes with several different spray options, but I assume most people getting this shower head will be using one of the rain settings, which are all very nice. There is a water limiter where the head connects to the hose—on the head part of the product. It’s a little mesh insert that can be removed if you want greater water pressure from the shower head. For me personally, I keep it in because it feels more like natural rainfall. This limiter is there because some states have laws where products like this cant displace more than 1.8 gallons per minute, which is what this is at without removing the little insert. Once removed, the water really blasts, so it's great for people that like high water pressure sprays as well. The customer service from the Dakings company is also top notch. I rarely write detailed reviews on products, but I am really happy with their customer service. I had an issue after 6 months, and I contacted them since it comes with a 1-year warranty and they quickly replaced the faulty part of the product and it came to me within a few days. I won’t even bother getting into the issue, I think I just got a lemon. I read all the reviews, and not one other person had the same issue I had. As far as the people complaining about leaks at the joints, just follow the instructions in the videos and it won’t leak. The same would happen with any shower head. If you use too much or too little plumbers tape, there will be leaks. Also don’t overtighten the connections. I have not had a single leak from the joints, the product works perfectly.

Fantastic shower head! I swapped over from an older brand name that was much smaller in size. This felt like a rain shower head compared to the old one. Don't hesitate on buying this one. I would recommend this and as a price conscious, savvy shopper who expects quality for price point, this is a winner.

I purchased this because it looked identical to the handheld shower head I already had, which was sold under a different name. My current shower head was leaking at the junction of the handle and hose, and inserting a new washer didn't work. So, I was thrilled to find this twin...until I used it. The water pressure was about half that of the one I had used for 3 years! After removing the shower head, I saw a flow restrictor embedded into the handle. Apparently, this is necessary for shower heads sold in California. I found online a way to remove the disc: use a power screwdriver to place a long screw into the middle of the restrictor. Then, using pliers, carefully pop out the disc. I believe I'll actually save water; when I tried this shower head with the water restrictor, I spent a very long time rinsing the shampoo & conditioner out of my hair than usual. The price was great...less than $20, which enables customers to get a new shower head & hose rather than cleaning limescale off an old head (and rust off the hose). If you don't like the look of plastic, however, you should look elsewhere. I think it looks great and makes holding the shower head easy.

Hand held shower head Easy to install and seems to be a well made shower head with multiple settings that all seem to function. We installed in downstairs bathroom that has a small shower stall and we needed something that would fit and be functional and we’re satisfied with this.
