first professional hood owned. 2 week update included
so far i got this and no complaints , except for i received this no spare outer and inner-lenses which was weird, i bought dozens of hoods and this is my first time not getting a few. oh well, the quality of this hood tops this issue. the controls with the digital screen setting the shade, sensitivity, and delay and grind/weld mode was so satisfying. has a nice sturdy feel, a little bit on the heavy side but not bad. headgear is great, pretty comfortable. smooth ratchet adjuster and a decent size viewing area and a place to hold a cheater lens. overall i give this a 8/10. will add edit after some time welding. So update. I noticed a dark line/crack in the filter I heard that that is unsafe to use at this point. So I sent it back. Decided not to get a different cause it’s not worth it for me, it’s just to heavy for my neck and I noticed it doesn’t cover my face and ears as well as others like my old Lincoln. Besides the weight and crack and lack of face coverage my previous review stands solid. If it didn’t have the crack I would still use it as my go to good. Thanks Jackson.

The auto dark feature is great.
I am new to the auto darkening welding helmet. I have not welded in many years. Wanted to get a little 110v welder for some home projects. I wanted a welding helmet that I could trust. After spending hours watching reviews and reading comments. I decide to give the Jackson safety helmet a try.I have spent a few hours using this helmet. It is amazing! The auto shutoff feature is my favorite feature on this helmet. If it doesn't detect light for some period of time it automatically goes into grind mode saving the batteries. The viewing window is huge! I don't know why they make a bigger viewing window. I looked at some of the panoramic helmets. But after getting this one, I glad I didn't. This helmet is perfect. Not to mention that it looks good also.If you have any question about this welding helmet, do yourself and your eyes a favor and spend the little extra and get this one. You will not be disappointed.

A great value!
Theis hood isn't the lightest weight autodark hood I've used. But for the price I'm very satisfied. The view through the lens is very clear. The controls are easy to use with gloves on. The shell is more flexible, kinda more like hard rubber than rigid plastic. But it holds it's shape and I think would tolerate being dropped better thank the hard shells found on most hoods. The graphics are clear and kinda retro/old school; which I like. On the whole a great functional hood without the Miller or Lincoln price tag. Better quality than cheap imports found on eBay or in Harbor freight.

Questionable durability on some parts.
I like it. Its simple. To he very honest I think you're paying for the lense. Filter. Whatever you may call it. I like the design. Evil Kenevil-ish look to it. However, I'm using a Lincoln electric 3350 series. My job provided it. The 3350 viking series is sturdy and more user friendly. This hood physically feels weaker. I could've spent the same money for a better product. Removing the lense is easier in my Lincoln. This feels..... Nerve racking lolI feel like im gonna break the brackets(in the photo by the two fingers) that hold the lense in. I also feel like i get more coverage from the Lincoln series.Overall? I mean. For a starter or gift to a welding graduate, or maybe a hobby worker? Great. For the folks who have been in it and wanna go further? Look for heavier and more costly.I like it though. I know i complained a lot but i like it. Its not that bad I'm just dramatic.-update-So i took this to work. Gave her a run. Then lense makes 100% difference. I can see everywhere im going no problem. The Lincoln lid I have has a lense thats just too dark every which way. I reccomend

Flexibility and light weight
Everyone saying it's a junk flimsy. It's not,I have had this for years now and use it 10 hours a day. 5 days a week and not any problems. I love this helmet. I wanted to order another but the price went up on it. Buy this helmet if you are tired of the heavy ass ones and the true vision is great.

Great Value.
I have only used this hood for TIG welding DC and have had no issue with flashing, which my other hood was having and the reason for purchasing this one. Over all very happy with it.I can see how some people would complain that its too light weight and may break. I can see that if you are trying to use this out in the field, but for production welding at a bench or a work station that you can treat your tools nicely, then this is more than adequate.
