14mm Thin Wall Spark Plug Socket - Fits BMW, MINI, Nissan

Needed a thin-walled socket to access the sparkplugs in my 2012 BMW 135i (N55 engine). This socket performed perfectly. I think it has a magnet or some type of spring catch inside so that the sparkplug doesnt slide out when you go to install new plugs into the engine. Conversely, this magnet/catch will pull the plug out of the hole after you loosen it.

Holds the plug securely, and fits into longer spark plug entrances due to the thin wall.

Worked great on my BMW N55 engine spark plugs. One tip to make things slight easier: I ended up taping the socket to the extension by wrapping some electrical tape across the joint. This made sure the socket stayed connected when pulling it off the newly installed plugs.

Review for ATLIN 12 pt 14mm socket; this deep thin wall socket was a perfect fit for Bosch 9786 plugs which have 12 points. It fit snugly on the 3/8" drive and firmly grasped the plug via the magnetized 5 prongs. While the magnet's strength is average the 5 spring prongs firmly held the plug while removing from the deep Mini Cooper plug chamber. The thin wall construction helped to provide room in the chamber to remove the plug and the polished socket has the size etched on the side. In addition the socket end has a 17mm 6 pt end. It is easy to use and an excellent value.

Worked extremely better than expected.

The mechanism to hold the plug inside is a kind of metal spring/clip that easily come off but can be re-inserted with a small plier. I wished I bought a magnetic one instead. Other than that, it worked perfectly on my BMW 430i

The husband is a heavy duty mechanic...used it on my Mini Cooper...he wasn't impressed with it. The socket didn't grab well & the spark plug kept falling out. Thankfully there was only 4 to change.

Exactly what I needed to change the plugs on my BMW. Tried buying 3 others that were sold as "thin wall" but definitely were not different than regular sockets. This one worked perfect.
