Works Very Well
I have only used this for a week, but what a time and frustration saver. It is now very simple to accurately measure the height of the table saw blade. It is made of durable plastic with a wide enough base to stand perfectly straight. The measuring tip is hardened steel so it should not be damaged by the saw blade teeth. My only complaint is that when taken out of the package the battery holder is reversed to prevent battery drain in the package. However this is not mentioned in the packaging anywhere. The battery holder doesn't look out of place when reversed so I had opened a second battery (it comes with 2 spares) thinking that the battery in the unit was dead because it would not "turn on". After about 10 minutes of hassle (when the second battery also did not work) I peered into the battery housing and discovered that the contact is on the bottom of the housing and that the battery holder, as received, had the contact on the top. Turning the battery housing over solved the problem. Just a one sentence notice would have been sufficient to prevent the anxiety and wasted time. Otherwise the unit appears to do what it is intended to do very well. I am looking forward to other uses, and especially being able to measure the depth of angles.

I have three of them.
I bought my first as a spare and because the numbers are larger so I may not need a third hand to put on my reading glasses. I use these in my workshop and in the field primarily to measure compression and concavity depths. I have a $300 Mitutoyo as well but resist taking it into the field. Sure, the Mitutoyo is more finely calibrated, but I find for simply Go/No go checks these are plenty accurate. I don't really worry about dropping one or the weather as they are so economical. I have found battery life to very good but do not store mine with the battery / tray inserted. I've gotten two more since the first and the only thing that would be better were if they came with a protective case. Again, at this price, it's not that concerning.

Very useful
Really a great product for the woodshop. Lots of uses to get the depth measurements correct. It is plastic and I suspect it won't take much abuse. Not that I would abuse it but things happen.

Now I can’t live without one.
Makes setting up saw blade and router bit depth way-y easier and much more accurate. This tool is obviously designed by people who use tools. Very intuitive and responds quickly to commands (no lag time). My device came with two extra (three total) batteries. This is an inexpensive way to say “hey, we know you don’t want to go to the drugstore for batteries today.” There is also a wonderful conversion chart on the back of the tool with standard measurements for parts and metal sheet goods. The only thing I do not like about this product is the fact it is made of plastic. It would probably have to sell for twice as much if made of metal so I do believe it to be well worth the money as is. When they make a metal version I’ll buy it but still keep this one for backup.

A Good Tool With Some Big Flaws
The tool itself is fine as far as functionality, i.e. it can accurately measure distances, but it has a 3 flaws that can't be overlooked. First, it comes with 2 tips, 1 flat and 1 pointed, but it doesn't have any way to store/hold the 1 that isn't attached. This isn't much of an issue when using it, but it could definitely cause an issue for long term storage. There are humans involved, so someone will inevitably lose 1 of them (umm, like me). The ad does say "packaged in a protective plastic case", which is just the original, far-too-large packaging. A simple clip or threaded hole on the gauge itself would have solved this without affecting performance, and I can easily store the extra batteries with all my other batteries. Second, the buttons are rather small, and the On/Off and Zero buttons have very similar symbols. Not a big deal since you can lock it in place and then move/read it, but also not the best of designs. Third, it doesn't have magnets on the bases. It doesn't say that it has them, but it describes itself as being "for woodworkers and welders", so it should by default. The LCD is also somewhat tough to read, but I know a backlit screen would have eaten up batteries. As for recommending it, I'd say at least look at other products before buying this one. Maybe it's the best one out there, but that wouldn't remove the flaws this one has. I'll use mine for now, but I can see relegating it to backup status once I find a better one.

Every woodshop should have a few of these...
I use one of these for setting router and router table bit heights, table saw blade heights, etc. and have been extremely happy with the instrument. So much so, that I have purchased a couple more of them. They are made of plastic, but it's pretty tough material and I've had no issues with it warping or getting brittle. The material won't damage the carbide or HSS blades if you get careless with it, so I honestly think this is probably the best choice for its intended use.It is very accurate and well thought out. You can set the bit height on your router table with it vertical, and lay it horizontal and set the fence so that the proper amount of the bit is exposed. This is very handy and seriously cuts down on the amount of fiddling with the router table setup. An excellent product at a fair price.

Great digital set-up gauge
I purchased this and have used it recently to help with setting up my router table for creating tenons. The gauge has performed flawlessly and has provided me with a very accurate means for setting my fence and bit height. It feels to be fairly solid, at least for a workshop environment. It is made of a solid plastic composite. The operation is simple and easy to adjust and lock in place. The gauge comes with a battery installed, but also has an additional battery in the package. There is also an additional tip which can be installed in place of the flat measuring tip to which will allow measure of inside corner depth. Zeroing the gauge is easy as it can be, 1) Place on flat surface 2) move tip to contact surface 3) Hit "0" button and your done.
