Replacement
Its replacing a Heat n Glo receiver that finally quit after 27 years. This receiver was easy to install. The remote that came with it works but temperature varies from 2 to 6 degrees when using Thermo. Good price.

A direct replacement for my failed 22 yr old Smart-Stat II/III remote on my Heat-N-Glo fireplace
Arrived quickly and was easy to install. Appears to be a direct replacement for my failed 22 yr old Smart-Stat II/III remote & receiver on my Heat-N-Glo fireplace. Before ordering these new parts, I changed batteries in the old remote and it still would not turn on the fireplace. I confirmed the receiver below the fireplace was getting power. The fireplace ignited when I manually moved the receiver switch to "ON". (The receiver has a slide switch for OFF/REMOTE/ON). However, the fireplace did not go off when I slid the receiver switch to "OFF".The new remote & receiver are working great! Happy that I purchased this over the more expensive Skytech Smart Stat II/III Fireplace Remote Control for Heat-N-Glo (original remote was a Skytech Smart Stat II/III).

Easy replacement for Smart Stat II
This was a replacement for a SmartStat II (Dec 2009 model). The buttons on the old remote were always very difficult to push and I was concerned that the new one would be the same but they weren't. This new remote had the same features (on/off/thermo) and the buttons were easy to push with a crisp response. The receiver had the same wires as the old one, one 120V plug and two red wires, same as the previous model so it was an exact swap out. It didn't require any code setting or programming either so it was up and running within a few minutes. The only difference I see is that the old one (Smart Stat II) had an option to use batteries in the receiver in case of a power outage. This one does not have a battery backup option. I had never used that option in 15 years so wasn't an issue for me.Great value, easy to connect. The only difference I see
