Power when you need it
Case is strong enough for my stationary needs. They have a snap like lid latch. I believe they are well designed for light applications. They do have a feature not normally provided that is a on / off switch, although the wire used is way under sized for full battery capacity. One would need to easily replace it, if needed.

High Quality Construction
These are well made, sturdy, and durable. The only weak link is the thin gauge wires they chose to run from the battery contact and switch. I immediately replaced the wires with more rugged choices. Great value for the price.

Solid 18650 cell holder.
The case is solid and the cell is not easily removed. For my purposes this is great since I am adding a charging circuit and don't intend to remove the cell until it dies. However, the contacts can be removed easily with minimal force. This allows you to adjust the tension on a clip and/or lightly sand the PCB legs if you are having difficulty soldering the leg.- Used Leaded Silver solder 63/36/2 .022 with rosin core- High temp 304C. Use lower temp if you have difficulty maintaining contact while joint cools- Fine tip. I used a T .08 Chisel tip. You can put a lot of heat in a tiny space.- Use liquid flux on wire and PCB lead.- Tin the wire and PCB leg (add solder to wire and PCB leg first, then solder joint)Someone commented on fire. See my battery notes photo. Always check your 18650 cell for tears in the shrink wrap/insulating ring at the positive end of the cell. Any shrink wrap tears should be repaired. However, the big hazard is at the positive terminal. With this 18650 case design:- Large cell contact area at positive terminal. Not a small button or spring.- Tight fit and hard spring steel increases the risk of damage to insulator ring and wrap.Placing the Negative end of the cell in the case first and then using force to snap the Positive end into the case is going to increase the risk of a tear at the Positive end of the cell, thus increasing the risk of a short and fire.
