Mookie 8692 Complete Cricket Set Size 3, Multi Colour

My 8 year old son bought this for his dad as a Father's Day gift. My son has recently started playing cricket and my husband has been a lifelong fan / ametuer. The bag it comes in is excellent for keeping it all together. The gloves that come with it were a tiny bit big for my 8 year old, but still work well. The shin pads are a bit long for him again, but still usable. The bat, stump, wicket are all wood. The ball I think compares to a thin tennis ball, which so considering the intended age is not a bad idea. Overall for the price it's quite good. I think it would be ideal for a child between 8-12. My son and my husband have really enjoyed it and I felt for the price it was great for little afternoon matches.

A good kids cricket set - seemed a little pricey to me but I don't normally buy these types of things so not sure - they all seemed to be a similar price. pleased with it though - good for kid bought for with pads and gloves particularly good. I think the stumps weren't the best quality but then they are only stumps! I've seen a friend's kit where they are all varnished etc but it doesn't seem to be affecting the cricket playing though.

This is used to teach my nephews who live abroad how to play Cricket and give them some extra outdoor activity. They love it and often ask to play.The youngest (7) wears the pads and gloves just for fun. Ages 11 and 12 have no problems using the bat. Stumps could do with being a bit wider(short bails) to make it easier for the kids to get a wicket and a tad higher when playing with adults.

The set is made of good quality wood, just the right size for my 7-10 year old children and easy to set up. The bag is a good addition as allows us to take the set to parks and keep everything together. The gloves are bulky and cumbersome and lost their novelty quickly but makes little difference to how the game is played.

Great starter set for the kids. They love dressing up in all the gear. Very soft wood and easily dents if you use the bat to hit the stumps in place but haven't marked that down as that's just me being stupid. Highly recommend.
