Basket Case 3: The Progeny

Defying description even more than the first two, "Basket Case 3: The Progeny" takes the series further into the outrageous and surreal than ever before. Now pretty much a full-fledged horror comedy but not only one of the rare examples of that form that works very well, but of a whole different nature than most of its peers at a fundamental level. NOT a spoof or light, the horror elements are stronger, more fearsome and more graphic than most 'straight' horror movies, and the elements of harrowing tragedy that dominated the original Basket Case are still in place, but so are elements of sexiness, cute appeal, insane action and over-the-top strange hilarity, including an 'armored Belial' scene that makes "Evil Dead 2" and even "Gremlins 2" seem as intently somber as "The Sixth Sense". There is probably no way all these differnt elements should come together as well as they do, or that it should be able to do it and stay in tune with more 'fully dark' original; it should come off as much of a misfire as "Jason X" but somehow doesn't - it's the only movie to fly on all these radically different tracks at the same time and succeed, and brings the "Basket Case" trilogy to a victorious conclusion.

this was the worst part of basket case that i have seen. I liked the first two but as for part three it was so unpredictable and lame, i actually sat through the whole thing just to prove to myself it wouldn't get any better. stupid ending! as well!

If your a an of the Basket Case series then you know what to expect. this is a silly crazy funny weird ride. A perfect ending to one of the worlds weirdest and best movie series .

When we last left Duane and Belial Bradley they had been sewn back together. Seperated once more, Duane is restrained for his own good whilst Belial's girlfriend gives birth to twelve sprogs (he may be a small mutant but....). The entire population of the home for freaks is off on a jolly outing when Belial's brood is captured by a trigger-happy sheriff and his goon squad. So it's up to our favourite rampaging beast to rescue his offspring in what proves to be the most outrageous, funny and flamboyant Basket Case film yet.

The film is a big classic from the days when horror didn't have the best effects.

Wer Bascet Case 1+2 kennt und mag,der kommt am 3.Teil gar nicht vorbei-wenn es ihn auch nur in englischsprachiger Ausführung gibt.Diese Trilogie ist der Hammer- könnte sich mancher Regisseur,mancher Masken-bildner fürwahr eine Scheibe abschneiden!!--------------------------------------------------------Story:Die ungleichen Brüder Duane und Belial Bradley haben bereits die schuftigenÄrzte,die damals den missgestalteten Belial für nicht lebensfähig im Klinikmüllentsorgten,zur Rechenschaft gezogen.Nun führt die abenteuerliche Reise der beidenroadtripmässig durch den tiefen Süden.......wo es sogar Sheriffs gibt,die fürOrdnung sorgen müssten.......Und viele gleichgebeutelte Freunde werden gefunden,Belial verliebt sich und gründeteine Familie;natürlich nicht,ohne Aufsehen zu erregen und dann werden auch nochBelials Babys gekidnappt...............Bestialische Metzeleien stehen den beiden Vorgängern natürlich wieder in nichts nach...der Fan kommt auf seine Kosten-Ehrenwort!Ich persönlich habe die Zwillinge schon ab dem 1.Teil ins Herz geschlossen,weil die Story trotzaller Tragik auch eine gewaltige Extraportion Humor hergibt;sei es wegen der abstrakt-ur-komischen Figuren,den fantasievoll,manchmal sogar drolligen Masken und nicht zuletztwegen den einzigartigen,abgefahrenen und lustigen Dialogen.Vielleicht oder sicherlich gehen die Meinungen über diese Kult-Serie verschiedene Wege,kannich durchaus verstehen- nicht jeder Horror-Freak kommt auf diese gruselige Muppet- Show- Version klar.***************************************************So...I love it...five stars are not enough!!!!!Kaufen!
