Unbelievable value
Having found these on sale I realised (after discovering DankPods and his praise for these in the reviews) that these would be a nice replacement for my singular working Sennheiser CX3.00 (left bud died after less than a year) to use at the office. For under £20 I really don't think it's possible to find sound that's even comparable to these. Plenty of clear bass; undistorted, clean mids and crisp high end make these just as good as earphones at well over triple the price. They sound as good or better than the Beyerdynamic Byrons I had before the Sennheisers, and they trample all over those Sennheisers too. The sound is less bassy and has more emphasis on super crisp highs than a lot of other lower end earphones so if all you want is bass maybe look for something else, but there really is as much bass as most regular listeners should want. These come with a detachable, replaceable cable so the dodgy wiring that killed my left CX3.00 is unlikely to ruin these in the long run, and the cable itself is somehow much, much better than the one on those Sennheisers. With those, the slightest tap on the cable from a stray finger or even just the cable rubbing on your body creates extremely irritating noises that ruin whatever you're listening to. With the KZ's you can slap the cable around all you want and your music will remain wonderful. There's even a mic on this cable (if you choose the version I did) and it's surprisingly good! There have been a couple of downsides with these earphones, since nothing can be truly perfect. Firstly, on my work PC these create a bit of hiss when playing sound, so I had to buy an attenuator for an extra £20. It's worth saying, I didn't hear any hissing noise when I tried these on my phone, so it might not even be a problem with the headphones, but it certainly did dampen my enjoyment of them when I was first using them at work. It's definitely still worth getting them with an attenuator (I got an Ifi Ear Buddy) if they hiss on your device though, since even for £40 these sound very impressive. The other downside so far has been that I very occasionally get a small electric shock from touching the metal part of the earbud. That sounds worse than it is, since the shocks I've had from the lift call button in the hospital I work at were worse, and I didn't even reflexively pull my hand away from the earphone since the shock was so small. Small problem but worth noting. Overall though, these are phenomenal earphones and it's baffling that you can get sound this good for so little money, and with features far more expensive earphones don't even have. The buds are surprisingly heavy and they feel really well built; since they're partially clear you can even see the internal components. KZ clearly weren't worried about their build quality and it's easy to see why. Just buy these unless you're going to spend upwards of £100. You'll struggle to find anything better without stretching to that price range.

Better than my £100 Sony over-ears, even giving my £400 Grados a run for their money.
My audiophile friend reccomended these earphones to me (he works as a sound engineer). I absolutely love a good pair of headphones and just needed something I could roll up and put in my pocket... These are not only amazing headphones for the price... they're just amazing headphones, full-stop. They have amazing build quality, the cable is replaceable, they look awesome and the sound quality and sound staging is remarkable (especially for the price). They're comfortable and stay in place while exercising. I can hear things with these that not even my £400 Grados are able to pick up (with a proper DAC and AMP). These absolutely blow my £40 Sony in-ears and £100 Sony over-ears out of the water. These are now my go-to headphones most of the time, even when I'm at home (when I cba to grab the Grados). I also have a set of ZS10 PROs which are remarkably better, but I am not comfortable taking them out with me (too expensive). I only have 2 very minor complaints. The cable gets tangled quite easily (more so than my Sony in ears) and there is some interference when the track goes silent (no more than usual however). I have one more major complaint which is that at high to highish volumes high notes such as vocals are affected by sibilance (hissing) which can be quite unpleasant. This is easily solved with a few tweaks to the phones base equaliser however :). I have absolutely no issue whatsoever with recommending these headphones to anyone. Even if you weren't looking for headphones and stumbled across these by accident... buy these headphones. If you are willing to spend a bit more (£50) then the ZS10 PROs offer a remarkable boost to audio quality and do not suffer the same issues with sibilance (defo worth it).

Above average for the price.
For the price you pay, these earphones are likely to out-perform your standard free earphones that you get in the box with your phone. The mid-low end frequencies are best defined however I'd describe high end frequencies to be 'hissy' at times. Their sound-stage is good but nothing to write home about so this makes symbols and whatnot sound clumped together. I have no complaints about the microphone and have an easy time using it for calls. The earphones are easy to use and don't require any additional software to work. Overall solid pair of earphones that can handle music and gaming to an extent. I got my pair for £23 so usually I'd say they're fantastic for what you pay, however I have a pair of Sennheiser CX200s which were £20 and manage the mid and high end frequencies marginally better than the KZs but the KZs excel in the bass and sound-stage. No matter which way you put it, I am being pretty critical but these are solid earphones at this price point and make an excellent product or gift for casual or beginner users to enjoy. They may not compete with £50 earphones but they absolutely hold their own in the £25 range.

Seriously impressive sound for the money
I'll be honest, I bought these on a bit of a whim, after reading a load of reviews online about the best in ear wired headphones. I wasn't expecting much for what they cost. But I have to say, I'm absolutely blown away. For this price, you're getting a seriously capable set of earphones that punch well above their weight. The Good Bits First off, the build quality is spot on. They feel solid and well-put-together, not like some of the flimsy plastic ones you can get. They also look really cool, quite unique. But the main thing is the sound – it's brilliant. The clarity is great, and the bass really comes through without being muddy or overpowering. For what you're paying, the sound they pump out is genuinely amazing. The Not-So-Good Bits They're not perfect, mind. My only real niggle is that they can get a bit uncomfortable after a while. After about an hour of having them in, my ears started to ache a bit, nothing major, but you definitely notice it. Also, and this isn't a complaint, more of a funny story – they do look a bit like hearing aids. The flight attendant on my last trip kept trying to get my attention and thought I was deaf until I took them off. Gave us a good laugh, but just be aware! Final Verdict Look, despite the slight ear fatigue on long sessions, you just can't argue with the value here. The sound quality is fantastic for the money. If you're after a budget set of earphones that sound like they should cost a whole lot more, I'd absolutely recommend giving these a go!

For the money, these are unbeatable.
I bought these because it's getting close to winter here in Scotland, and I don't really want to wear my stupidly expensive B&O over ear headphones outside. I had been looking around for a cheap and don't care if they die set of earphones that I can wear everyday, and I came across these, and the Moondrops, over and over again. I chose these because I don't want to walk around with what looks a ganja leaf in my ear. For just a few quid more than a pair of crappy off the shelf at Tesco Sony or JVC buds, you get outstanding build quality, a detachable cable, and a sound quality that will astonish you. It's been a while since I used earbuds, so I was expecting the same thin and tinny sound you would normally get, but these are incredible. The bass is right there, and the soundstage, while not as wide as you would get with an over ear, is wide and high enough to make it feel as though you're listening to your music in a church hall. They're very easy to drive, and my Surfans F20 rarely goes past 60% volume. The isolation is very good, both in and out. At first it can be a little disconcerting, as even at low volumes these will block about 90% of outside noise, but the music is so loud and clear that it feels like everybody can hear what you're listening to. You get used to it pretty quickly, but you will have to double check every time you cross a road for a while. I put some heavy metal on and stood next to my partner on the train to test leakage, but they couldn't hear a thing, even though my eardrums were taking a pounding, so don't worry that you're that guy, bleeding out their tsst tsst tsst! and annoying everybody. With a pair of memory foam tips, they create a seal that will almost completely isolate you and the people around you from even the slightest hint of a squeak. There are a couple of slight niggles, but not enough to be deal breakers. If you listen to these with an Ipod or Iphone and don't use a lossless codec like ALAC or FLAC, they will sound a little flat, and you'll be left wondering what all the fuss is about. If you have a decent DAP and only play FLAC or .WAV, then these will open right up. They're tuned for voice forward modern rock and electronic music, so you'll get the best from them if you listen to that sort of thing. Bjork, Rammstein, Seba, and Massive Attack all sound incredible with these, but they can handle the likes of Bon Iver, Julie Fowlis, and Amy Winehouse just as well. There is good separation and no loss of clarity. The high end can sometimes be a little shrill, but not enough to be fatiguing. With older recordings they can be a little hissy during the quiet bits, but that's to be expected. You'll get that even with much more expensive units. If you have an EQ then you could quieten that down a little, but its really not that big of a deal. I won't compare these to a pair of high end audiophile cans, because that's not what they are or what they're for, but I can compare them to the likes of Skullcandy and Sennheiser buds that are roughly the same price, and I can say with confidence that they whizz all over them. I did a side by side comparison with these and my Sennheiser MX – 375s that I use for the gym, and the difference is night and day. I thought the 375s sounded OK for sub £20 earphones, but they don't. They sound terrible. There is no excuse for how bad they sound when CCA can make these for the same price. Other than the soundstaging, I don't feel like I'm losing out on anything by using these instead of my snobby high end gear, and they can be a lot more fun. They have a V shaped sound profile, meaning that bass and voice are pushed forward, but not at the expense of mids and subtleties in the music. I've seen a few complaints about mids being muddy, but I suspect those are from users with Iphones and MP3 files. If you want to get the most from your music but don't have hundreds of pounds to spend, then I highly recommend these paired with a DAP like the Surfans F20 or the Mechen M30. You'll get as close to the cork sniffing audiophile experience as makes no difference for a fraction of the price.

Excellent sound but check they are fully working on arrival
I use these for professional IEM at some very noisy gigs. VERY good sound quality for the price, nice wide stereo field with good separation and decent bass response. Good protection from external noise. Comfortable. Lost a couple stars because it came with a faulty connector for the right ear bud, and I have to move the ear bud around a bit for audio to come through sometimes. However I just decided to keep them. 5 stars if quality control is improved.

Ridiculously good sound for the money
These are still some of the best value earphones I’ve used. The sound quality you get for the price is hard to beat, clear, punchy and surprisingly detailed. They fit well, feel solid, and don’t feel like budget throwaways. I use them regularly and they still impress me, especially compared to much more expensive options. If you’re even slightly into audio, these are an easy recommendation. They massively outperform what you’d expect at this price point.

Very comfy and the clearest sounding earbuds I'ver ever used.
I'm not an audiophile. I like a good whomp of base. I've come from Skullcandy Jibs, which were bass rich, but overall decent for their minimal cost. Plugging these into my computer where I needed them for the hot weather, they felt very weak. I did some reading, and they want a warm-up/break in. I did that and left them for a few days, they warmed up after that and to their credit, I cannot fault the sound. It is flat though, I found I had to tweak the EQ to give it a bit of warmth and life. Very clear for what I can tell, and they've got some good power behind them. So for the price I think these are spiffing(great). Then again, I've never spent over £30 on earbuds before and only ever paid decent money for steelseries wireless headphones, H-wireless and Arctis 7's. The former being far superior, but rubbish build quality. So again, I aint no audiophile. They stay in your ear through thick n thin. I've had a motorcycle helmet on and not been bothered, they stay on during heavy exercise. They sooner pull the plug out of your dropped phone than come off your ear… not sure if that's good or not. The cord could be a touch longer, 6-10 inches or so. And I find it tangles very easy, doesn't feel great but looks good. I'm looking into getting the bluetooth module for my pair as I use a rowing machine with a phone mount to track workout and the cord gets in the way and isn't long at full extension. I listen to mostly electronic and heavy metal and must say, I've been hearing some new sounds within some of my fav songs. Very happy with them, not the cord, but the units themselves... yes.
