Compared to other devices I have seen, this is such an important security device and so simple to use. I chose this device because it was highly recommended in reviews but also by the local police in my area.I bought this for a friend who works alone as a property sales person who occasionally is by herself at night and she now feels much more at ease knowing she has this device with her.I chose blue as it compliments her clothing that she must wear for her work, but there are many other colours available.The alarm is activated by pulling a pin that then makes a very loud ear piercing noise that can only be stoped by replacing the pin. It would be almost impossible for an assailant to replace the pin in the dark or daylight if they don't know where to replace it, but they will also be panicking when they hear the noise that this produces and in most cases will run away before help can arrive.You can use the key chain ring to attach the device to your body via a belt loop etc or It doubles up as a key ring and the important thing is that your keys are secured on a seperate chain to the alarm pull cord, therefore this prevents the pin from accidentally dropping out due to the weight of your keys.This comes with a guide and explains how the device is powered and how to replace the batteries and what type of batteries are required.It has been proven by security experts that a load noise will frighten a potential attacker and therefore could save you in a horrible situation, if nothing else this alarm will attract attention and posssibly bring that much needed help in an emergency.I have also bought one of these for my elderly mother who uses it in case she needs our help, not from an assailant but in case she falls or has a problem due to her age.Great device that is not expensive and could easily save a life.

Would be 5 STARS for the product, or 1 STAR for the supplied "tester" batteries, hence I give it 3 STARS.Extremely loud alarm, was not expecting to be stunned by the noise during test in my living room for such a small item, I have no doubt it would make an assailant run off. Torch is handy for finding keyholes, imagine a mobile phone torch but slightly less powerful.* BATTERIES * no where in the online description does it say supplied with Tester Batteries only, and you need to buy proper batteries for use. FYI a pack of 4 reasonable branded LR44 is £8 (so it is possible to understand why manufacturer equips with rubbish batteries to keep price down on the initial sale).

Had to brake it open as when I pulled the pin out I could not get it back in to stop the alarm going of it was a nightmare,had to get it open to get the battery’s out and still could not get the pin out tried all ways and in the end the pin broke

i've not had occasion to use the product and hope i never have to do so. i did, momentarily remove the pin and the noise was quite ear-splitting.. It is small enough to be discrete but large enough to find without sight. it certainly gives peace of mind when out unaccompanied. For that alone it is worth the small monetary price.

Small, a little bit plasticky but make it very light (good thing), good design, look sturdy, pin is separate from the holding chain so will not set off by mistake, pin securely in, good colours (bought a few) and mainly very, very loud! (much louder and better than others I ve bought before).

I purchased this for my daughter now she is at secondary school and walks to and from school by herself. We tried the alarm at home and it is loud. I like the fact that the alarm is activated by pulling out the pin rather than pressing a button as it less likely to be set off by accident. It comes in fun colours and is small enough to be carried discretely in my daughters hand whilst walking.

I'm going to be travelling alone frequently next year, and as the UK do not allow you to carry anything that could be classed as a weapon, I decided to get an alarm. It's a very sturdy little piece of equipment, can be used multiple times, the pin is easy enough to remove but won't come out by mistake. I thought I'd try it out, and instantly shoved the pin back in as the sound is hideously loud and horrible on the ears!
