Switch Cover Compatible with Philips Hue Smart Wireless Dimmer Switch V2 (Single Cover SM200 V2)

If you've got Philips Hue dimmer switches and want them to look like proper light switches on the wall, these covers are exactly what you need. We have the Hue dimmers in a few rooms but they always looked a bit out of place just stuck to the wall with the magnetic plate. This cover fits over your existing UK light switch plate and gives the Hue dimmer a proper home so it looks like it was always meant to be there. The fit is snug and the finish matches a standard white switch plate well. Installation took about two minutes per switch. The only thing to keep in mind is that it covers the original switch so you'll want to make sure you've taped that switch in the on position first, otherwise you'll lose power to your Hue bulbs. For anyone building out a Hue smart home this is a must have accessory. Really tidies things up.

I don't always write reviews but I had to for this. I originally had switch covers from a different brand because these didn't exist at the time. They had weak magnets and it was very difficult to remove. These samotech ones are perfect in every way. Easy to install, and also very easy to access the original switch. The best thing about these is that it uses the original plate from the Hue remote, so the remote fits perfectly and uses the original strong magnet. As long as you have the correct size light switch in your house, I can't recommend these enough. I'm so glad I replaced my old ones with these samotech ones.

Easy to fit over an existing light switch and matches the appearance of the v2 hue switch perfectly. Only negative is if you're buying a few of these is you end up with loads of pointless screw drivers (it includes a mini screwdriver). Who doesn't have a flat head screwdriver? Seems pointless and wasteful to include it.

Wanted a Hue Dimmer Switch and something like this to cover up the normal light switch. After a little research, I decided on this one as it uses the Hue Dimmer Switch backplate so it’s a perfect colour match. Installation was easy and the Hue backplate snaps on perfectly and very firmly. There were none of the issues of it being loose or not clipping on as some other reviews have mentioned. Taken it off just to see how easy it was, it does take a little effort but nothing stressed or broke. Would definitely buy more of them if I buy more switches.

For me, the SM200 is the best of the current (October 2021) cover plate options for the Hue dimmers. The plate has a nice matte white finish which matches the V2 dimmer finish. It also has the lowest profile (at 17mm thick) of all the options, helped further by the stepped shape and crisper edge radius that again matches the Hue V2 dimmer and plate vey well. Note the V2 Hue plate clips securely into this plate but can be removed easily enough if you need to access the light switch underneath. When ordering I was concerned the design might look a bit fussy but, in the flesh, I think this solution looks more elegant and modern than the other options from this manufacturer and from Iyoke. I bought a pair of the Iyoke cover plates for my V1 dimmers at the same time. The Iyoke plates are fine too but are noticeably chunkier and look a little cheaper / dated due to the thicker unstepped profile the shiny plastic. Comparing them, is a bit like comparing Duplo (Iyoke) to Lego (SM200). Hope this helps you choose.

I installed this cover over a standard UK light switch and it touches the switch behind it, so whenever you press the Hue switch button, it causes the light to flicker. There were a couple of washers in the box that you can put around the screws, presumably for this very problem, but then the cover doesn't suit flush against the wall.

I think this kind of functionality should be included with the switches, but in the absence of that kind of quality from Philips, these accessories are good...

Gute Passform und leichte Montage.

Wer hätte das gedacht? Mit so einer simplen aber auch wirklich genialen Idee lässt sich ein vorhandener Lichtschalter der Smarte Leuchten steuert für die Allgemeinheit „sperren“ (Kinder, Gäste, etc. ), um an diese Stelle eine System passende Fernbedienung für eben genau diese Leuchtmittel zu hängen. Keine Fehlfunktionen mehr durch abgeschaltete Lichtschalter, keine Szenen- und Automatikprobleme bei diversen SmartHome Anwendungen, nein, die Lichter sind definitiv mit Strom versorgt, wenn sie gebraucht werden. Was mich stört ist, dass der magnetische Unterteil in dem die Fernbedienung einrastet nicht besonders fest am Grundsockel des Plastikteiles sitzt, aber das ist nicht weiter schlimm. Ich werde es wieder kaufen, es ist ein Problemlöser.

Wenn man diese Halterung über eine andere Steckdose schrauben soll klappt das nur, wenn die Schraubenlöcher in der unterputz Dose noch frei sind.

Eine gute Idee einen Lichtschalter hinter einem Hue Dimmschalter zu verstecken. Montage war recht einfach. Allerdings klippte danach die originale Halterung nicht richtig ein da sich das Gehäuse nach der Montage leicht verzogen hat. Ist doch recht filigran. Ich hab etwas Klebestreifen auf der einen Seite über den Rand geklebt und dann passte es. Aber grundsätzlich eine feine Sache und sieht gut aus.
