Second Spartan XHP. Fun little knife.
Out of the box, reasonably sharp. Light weight, but somehow sturdy in hand. Notes: clip is not ambidextrous, structural integrity falls to the handle material, but somehow feels solid. Minimal use since sharpening, but the edge in picture is after cutting about ~12ft of 5-8 oz leather and 10ft through cardboard.

I wanted to like this more...sharpening is impossible without regrinding
I like everything about the knife...except the steel. I've owned a wide variety of knives over the years, but this was my first experience with CTS-XHP steel. Never again. While the edge you do get wears well, it is very difficult to get a razor sharp edge. It reminds me of working with tungsten carbide. Also the factory bevel near the last inch of the knife tip is too blunt (see photo), so it never gets sharp unless you reshape it with a belt grinder. This was too much money for these issues.

JR, Wrote the review on the Spartan Talos.
If you had diamond stones, you would not have any problem. I have that steel. And I've never had the issue, he doesn't know what he's talking about.
