A have a herniated disc, and had to buy a very ergonomic recliner with sloping ottoman. Believe it or not, Flash Furniture (office furniture) is some or the best (almost qualifies as a medical device). After some modifications like a Perfect Posture seat cushion (new model), and filling the zippered headrest with a thick slab of memory foam, it was easy to get at the proper angle. The recliner with ottoman is available on Amazon (it's the dark brown with maple). After some time, I noticed these dents in the armrests where my elbows always end up. I chose the Elbow Friend in black, and they are perfect!!!!!! No they are not memory foam. If they were, the would cost a lot more. The high-density foam is just right. My elbows put very little weight on these pads. They don't crush down. They have the perfect firmness. They fit the bill so well, I now consider myself a master at this Amazon buying art. Yes if you clean the armrests with isopropyl alcohol, let them air dry, the Velcro will stick extremely well. They have never moved on me. They cover the dents in my armrests, and are very supportive and comfortable. I highly recommend this item (even for a leather recliner). I am very pleased. The wooden arms on a chair I frequently use were killing my elbows and forearms. So I went looking for some kind of retrofit arm cushions and found these. They work for me, although I had to buy a set of extension straps (available separately). First, I installed the straps tightly to each chair arm with the provided non-slip pad between the straps and arm to keep the straps in place. Then I stuck the cushions to the straps. The Velcro is strongly adherent and keeps the cushions pretty much locked in. Overall, the product gives the impression of being well designed and executed by someone who gave it a good deal of thought. A few things to note from my personal experience with this product. Getting the straps on the arm can take some tweaking to come out not only tight, but also with the Velcro loops on top. Just something to be aware of. For me, the cushions are not the ideal size, because they are wider than the arms of my chair, leaving the edges of the cushions unsupported. So, when resting my arms on them, the thick foam rocks distractingly from side to side. I don't mean to make this sound too negative--in my view, it's a small price to pay in lieu of the elbow torment that would be happening without the cushions. The pads are a little bit noisy as peripheral areas of the Velcro adhere and release when I lower my arms onto them and then raise them again.. The separately-purchased extension straps are what made this product work for me.

I used for the right arm of my chair at work so my arm would be supported since I am on a computer 8 hours a day on my job. I stacked the two together and laced both sets of velcro straps (lace two together for the front and two for the back end of the pads) which makes it fit perfectly. Otherwise the straps would not be long enough, but I only needed it for the right side for constant mouse use. My chair is as high as it would go and the elbow friend makes it the perfect height now to take the pressure off my arm from "reaching" up over the edge of my desk to the mouse control. I am pleased with the function of the product when used as I have done.

It's a good idea and does work BUT the foam they use it very cheap. It's too soft and too high. So you arm rolls around on it a lot. Had they just used a more firm 1 inches piece of foam it would have been much better. But that's exactly what I am going to do replace the foam which they allow by just unzipping the cloth covers on the side. Go to Home Depot and buy some good foam.

My elbow friends arrived Last week. When I opened up the package I was surprised by the sleek new design of the pads. I first experienced elbow friends a few years ago when I was looking for something to ease the pain in my wrists. I am under 40 with bad arthritis and was looking for something to help my wrists and elbows since I tend to lean on my elbows when I sit at the desk. They worked great to pad my elbows, but they spun around on the arms of the chair and looked kind of clunky. I saw these new ones online and thought they would be worth a try. Well, the elbow friend has been completely redesigned since my last experience with them. They are now a lot lighter and filled with foam. They are also more of a square shape so they sit nicely on the arms of my chair. I quickly strapped them on and tried them out. They are incredibly comfortable and stay put on the arm rests. I've had them on for about a week now and am thrilled with them. I highly recommend them and I need to go figure out if I can buy another set to fit in my Honda element (not a car with extra padding!).

I've had these now for 4 weeks with daily use and I'm completely satisfied with them. The arms on my chair are narrow enough to not need extenders and I've had no problems with them moving around. I am mindful to not push on them from side-to-side so as to not loosen the velcro attachment straps as i can imagine could happen if someone habitually leaned on them, forcing them to want to slowly slip around. I was pleased with the type of foam construction these are made of, they offer a firm support and will most likely last a long time without breaking down and losing firmness. They obviously don't look like they were originally made for the chair, but I didn't buy them for aesthetic reasons, I bought them for comfort and for that I am pleased.

It gets very hot and moves around a lot. Also doesn't come with a secure fastener. What it does come with are 4 VERY short Velcro straps that is beyond small for any piece of furniture. I've tried it on 5 different chairs, too short for all of them. Basically, I will have to buy my own Velcro to actually have this work. Also, the way they have this secured is pretty dumb. You wrap a partially double sided Velcro around your chair, and then the elbow cushion just sits on the Velcro. NOT a very secure way of doing this. If they just put a loop on the bottom that the Velcro could slide through to make sure it wouldn't fall off, I would have given this a much better review. Basically as it stands, I can only equip one of these elbow cushions because of the poor and short straps it came with, and the cushion gets so hot that you can't keep your elbow there for long periods of time. HORRIBLE BUY!

I bought these 4 yrs ago in 2013 and just want to point out a few things. They are very comfortable to the arms if you have neuropathy type condition sensitive nerves. I keep the keyboard on my legs and rest arms on the foam pads, works great but... I've not used the velcro attach system as i didn't want to deal with the sticky on the chair arms. I use rubber bands. lol they keep popping off but after awhile you master it. Finally after 4 yrs of not washing these i noticed a smell as i rest bare forearms on them sometimes on hot days after exercising having put a towel down on the chair but not over the pads... the foam had turned yellow... so you can wash them and the cover but i think hand wash is better... Did that it helped a lot but will order another pair... At $24 a pair it costs $6. per year to be comfortable... not bad.. PS - You may need to lower the arms of your chair as these are thick pads that elevate your arms & shoulders. There is another brand that look thinner and slip on. Likely easier to install and remove if the chair arm length is correct. I've not tried them.
