I decided to build myself a battery box to charge small home devices like iPads and Phones. As part of this project i needed a USB C/A 12v input port. When i came across this product i decided to order it over others due to the fact it has a 12v battery voltage meter built in.Installation of the device was super easy, i used a step drill to make the relevant sized hole and then inserted it into my custom made battery box (which incidentally is a cheap small tool caddy). Wiring the device was also very easy, one negative and one positive attachment, the F type connector leads are included with the device - the positive is fused at 10amps.The device much be manually switched on via a small button on the device itself. I really liked this function as i don't want the sockets to be live all the time. Pressing the button once the LED ring springs to life and shows you the current battery voltage. This appeared to be pretty accurate when measured against my normal battery monitor. Plugging in a USB C cable and connecting to my Samsung S22 Ultra resulted in my phone displaying 'super fast charging' this is exactly what i wanted and it worked great! However... the battery voltage led then started to animate - it no longer showed me the voltage but a continuous circling of the led lights whilst drawing power. I really wanted this device to constantly show me the voltage rather than an animation. The lights are also fairly bright and the constant flashing is definitely a distraction. If you were using this within a car or motorcycle at night it would be super distracting. I have included a short video review to demonstrate this. I have also included a picture of my USB testing device which shows Volts/Amps/Watts going into an iPad Air from the USB C port of this device.In summary i really like this product - i just wish it continued to show the voltage rather than the charging animations. It delivers a good amount of power and has a marine grade waterproof cover and seal.Would i recommend it? I would but beware of the animation if using at night time in a vehicle.I hope that you found my review helpful.

Little to add to what some other positive reviewers have already said. So far I've only tested it but it looks OK and works as intended, so far. Only time will tell about its robustness in long term use in situ.Some other information that might be useful to potential purchasers is re my questions about the size of the mounting hole required (see above). I can confirm that a 30mm hole punch is suitable. Although there is a bit of play when you tighten the locking collar it holds the device firmly.I am going to get a, less easily found, 29mm hole punch before finally mounting the charger in its intended location. That will be tested beforehand so unless I report back here and edit this review please assume that a 29mm mounting hole is the precise size required.

I fitted this in accordance with the instructions & it worked as described. I used it for the first time when travelling in Europe to run my mobile phone (i-phone) as a sat nav. It stopped working on the first day after about 5 hours connection. Very inconvenient and potentially dangerous as my phone almost ran out of power before I noticed the unit was not working. Of course I checked the input fuse...it was fine.Added to the cost of installation, a very expensive few hours useRubbish.

Great charger, works extremely well, easy to install.Only grumble is a design feature that ALL of these chargers have regardless of supplier… the power button is really annoying. To come on with the ignition is perfect, the additional power button is not required, and just causes hassle if you forget to switch the thing on.

Charging socket really good, looks well now installed in camper van, voltage meter reads same as on main electric board which is great for a cheap product. Unit also charges iPad which is the reason I bought the item. Only issue was that the wiring pack that came with the charger was of very poor quality and the wires parted from the connectors when I tried extend the length of the cable run. In saying that it was easily repaired and the unit is working perfectly well.
