This flashlight is great for working on automobiles or lawnmowers. It is very versatile. The light is really bright.

I use these to swivel and light the telltails on my sailboat jib.The internal switch does not last long, I had two die after very few uses where the button became unreliable.I have not found a good replacement, so bought two more because of how much I like the clamp and swivel. That part is excellent

My wife likes the versatility of this tool.

I have more high end $400+ flashlights so I would not try to compare the Blackfire to those. The Blackfire works really well and puts out a strong beam of light. I have used it in nearly all of the configurations that it will allow - from clamping on to something, swiveling and sitting like a tri-pod using its own stand turned around and it works great in all situations. My only gripe would be that it's a little bit top heavy which means you have to make sure the clamp is a good ways down what ever you are clamping it onto otherwise it will droop down from the weight. Not a "huge" issue and can be overcome with creative mounting but I could see it being more problematic if you only had a very small surface to clamp onto. Otherwise, its a great light and does what it says and is another worthwhile addition to my arsenal of lights.

I had an older version of this light that lasted a long time and it only had one light level, on and off. This one has three levels; bright, dim, and flashing. I personally think the extra functions are worthless and it makes you click through all levels to turn it off and on. Still, a great versatile light but the extra steps are a little annoying.

Bought this to use on my boat. Hoped to clamp it on the side of windshield and direct light onto gauges on dashboard. Clamp would not hold flashlight in position at all. It seemed to be because the clamp was trying to grip on a very smooth surface and the head of the flashlight made it top heavy. Had to return it.

We use it to illuminate the inside chamber of a 3D printer by clamping to the door. Works perfectly. Clamp doubles up as a stand when free-standing. Really bright and can be angled to light up any point within the chamber. Nice soft rubber feel to it. Highly recommended.

The light is not balanced at all compared to the previous model..

Worked for a year, then it started consuming the batteries rapidly and after that it died all together. It was sparingly used indoors and was kept in good condition but still it stopped working after a year. Tried different AAA new batteries but nothing worked.
