.......but it does not fit a standard rimmed, mass-market aquarium. I thought it would work because there is a picture of the item on a rimmed tank. But it is about 1/4" too narrow for my 54 gallon tank. My tank is nothing special, regular mass-market tank. I think it would work fine for a rimless aquariam.

I have a standard 29 & 55 gallon tank with rim. The everyday kind you get from PetCo and PetSmart. However, this thing is a tad bit too narrow to fit over the inner lip where the glass top would rest on. In one of the pictures, the holder is shown with a rim tank and it clearly fits. It looks like the holder is touching the water. However not the case for me and my tanks. Great idea, but it needs to be wider especially if the screw will really be what holding it in place.

It works for what I need it to do. One did break which I had to superglue it back together.I recommend you reenforce it with glue regardless if it is holding or not.

These do work on my rimless tank. They are however 2 different sizes. A difference of about 1/4 inch so once the lights on its not too noticeable, but I notice it. If they were the same size 5 star no issue, but the quality control here obviously isn't good.
