This is a great little bowl. I have not used it to make food, but my primary use of this bowl has been to make beauty products at home and it has worked very well. It never burns my products, but allows them to heat up slowly and evenly so that things come out properly. It is a large bowl, so it takes a larger size sauce pan. I like the larger size though as it gives me plenty of room for my ingredients and for stirring them etc...I even ordered another one to use for cooking. Its very easy to clean and the fact it collapses makes for easy storage.

This product is so easy to use and so easy to clean. I make cake pops and use this to melt my chocolate right in a metal mixing bowl.

I got this to use as dog food bowl. My dog likes his food warm so I really like that I can microwave stuff in it to heat before feeding my dog. Works fantastic and durable (4 years of daily use and still going!)

The only thing I would not try to use it for is making alcohol extract, because some stuff does stick to it. After writing the too-long review of Frankincense (products in general) above, I think what melted the bowl a little was probably the Everclear, which probably dissolves a lot of stuff. Everclear is very useful as a solvent but it makes a sticky mess if too much of it is boiled off and it stays on the silicon for a long time, but eventually breaks down with soap and water. RSHO oil also stuck to this bowl, it's not good for that purpose. Both extracts (Frankincense and RSHO) used Everclear, only those extracts made the bowl difficult to clean. It is great for the purpose sold, and molds itself easily to the shape of the water-pot. Cleans up with Castile soap. It is also great as a cereal or snack bowl. I highly suggest this for toddlers, because it is non-toxic and they won't be able to break it or chew through it. Could also serve as a pet dish. I do not recall seeing the cover/saucer in my package, only the red bowl/boiler. Hm.

Use this for melting chocolate in the microwave. The flexible bowl aids in getting every last drop of the chocolate out. Just let the remainder dry in the bowl and pop out the chunks. Oerfect!

Works great easy clean up

Not wanting yet another pot or pan in my kitchen to melt chocolate or other delicate foods, I opted to buy this because it folded down flat and seemed like what I needed. It performed beautifully to melt chocolate, and I am more than pleased with my purchase. Yes, if you are using it as a double boiler, you need the right sized pot to use underneath, and yes, it does take a bit longer than a true double boiler, but I like that it is lightweight and is virtually non-stick due to the silicone. Some of the comments I have read are truly laughable (i.e. bowl slipping into the pot underneath, or not melting fast enough, to 'is it dishwasher safe'? Ugh. Obviously these people don't know how to use kitchen equipment or have no basic knowledge of cooking. I put mine in the dishwasher three times over the holidays and it came out clean and in perfect shape. Highly recommend!

The shipping was great. It came in perfect condition. I used it for the first time last night and it burnt through. (As is shown in picture) I needed this as a double boiler, which apparently, it isn’t good for (although it states it is, in the description.)

I used this to make a custard and it worked very well. The material remains comfortable to touch on the edges. It rinses clean under the tap. And flattens to a small disk for storage. A great product.

It works great and nice that it flat

I bought this as the top portion of a double boiler. I haven’t used it yet but it is what I wanted. Seems it won’t slip around on top of the pot. It is non-stick and doesn’t take up much space. Which is good for an item that is not used a lot.
