Q: I want to redirect water from a weeping hillside. Thinking of driving this into the weep point and redirecting the outflow. What do folks think?

"Weeping water" is called a "spring" and people usually dig out this spring and put in a "spring house" which basically is a roof over a a catchment tank. Pipe can then be used to divert the water from the tank where you want it. Ever see what looks like a dog house out in the middle of a field or near the edge of the road... might be a spring house.

Q: What is the outside diameter of the point? will it fit inside a 2" sch 80 pvc casing?

2 1/4" You need a 2 1/2" casing. It will not fit inside a 2" pipe

Q: I am about 7' into the ground now, but already fairly unlevel. How critical is it to stay perfectly level with the pipe?

I think you'll want be at least an inch within plumb in 7 feet, if you are more out than that I would pull out and retstart.
