My rat terrier had a tumble that resulted in two torn back-knee ACLs Surgeries have to be scheduled separately. Vet recommended Holdemup, but I am a dedicated Amazon shopper. This harness was identical, about the same price, but with Prime shipping.My dog measured 23.5 inches. Small harness was 25” When it arrived, it was too small in every connected spot. I immediately ordered a medium, but unfortunately the delivery was delayed due to a mis route. Two extra nights in hospital cost $$$$.If you are borderline in measuring, order up, or order two and return one. When you need one of these things - you want it, like NOW.While it’s a process getting my dog in the harness - because he cannot use his back legs yet, the harness is very sturdy, and comfortable enough to leave it on him all day. The handles are just right for lifting him.My husband cut away a small square in the undercarriage for the dog’s penis. You will want to do this, too if yours is a male, and utility scissors will do the trick.Easy to wash - I did it in the sink and let it drip dry overnight.I hope you don’t ever need this, but if you do, I recommend it totally.

We’ve had this harness just under a month. My dog is a 10 year old AB at 130 lbs. He started having seizures in January and has been on medications since March.We got this harness after he started having weakness going up and down the steps to go outside or get to the car. We keep the harness on during awake hours and remove it for bed hours. He wears it a max of 14 hours a day. No skin issues so far with the straps that go under the hind legs. It has helped so much in supporting him up the steps but he still insists going down on his own.The rear straps have a lot of extra material that hangs off behind him so I have folded them and fed them back through the two layers to keep from getting messy. The buckles seem to be very strong and capable but beware to keep you and your dogs skin away from them. I snapped a buckle on the skin between my thumb and finger when he moved a bit and it drew some blood.Make sure you measure your dog following the instructions before ordering. For his measurements we got the XXXL and it fits him nearly perfect. The chest/belly support stops just before the bits that don’t need covered in order to do his business.The camo print part that goes over the hips seems to hang a bit low over the base of his tail with the strap that goes between the shoulder and hip section where the handles are is just a tad too long.Unfortunately/fortunately within the return/replacement window one of the buckles broke off one of the little snap in place teeth. It happened when I was putting the harness on and not during a moment when he needed support thank goodness but we have received the replacement and hope these buckles will last. If not I will update and reach out to the company.

This is an excellent harness. I bought it because it looked durable and I was hoping my 85 lb dog could not get out of it. She doesn't have a hip issue but she continued to slip out of any harness I have purchased without fail. Also, I could not control her. This harness was a game changer because now I can walk her and she doesn't pull because she is learning and easier to train.

What I have - 2 90+lbs German Shepherds one is partially disabled due to a birth defect and cannot use his back legs 100%Where to start... over engineered too much of EVERYTHING... Straps, pulls, clips... BUT no real instructions on the W5'sThe clipping plastic pieces feel and are cheap... they will break and quicklyThe front end fits... ok the shoulders are a problem and the degree to which you can adjust them is horrible....IF YOU HAVE TO DISASSEMBLE SOMETHING TO THIS DEGREE TO GET IT TO WORK... YOU MADE GARBAGE..... you WILL spend more time putting this on your dog then it is worth....The back end, no matter how you mess with it will not fit your dog.... its like the built it, took the correct end and replaced it with one 3 times bigger then it needs to be...The back end WILL cover your dogs genitals and they will pee on it...The only way to get this to fit correctly is to cut off lengths of strap, yes CUT the straps to make it fit... or order 2 of them and mix and match?? also there are sleeve coverings?? on the back ends straps that make it even MORE difficult to adjust.... like the sleeve it longer then the length needed by ANY DOG EVER....Save your self pain, hassle, and a headache... just throw a towel under them, lift them down to what ever your doing and go about your business.

Ok, so we got a medium for our Baby with IVDD. We fussed with it for hours on the back end and it was too tight. I would really appreciate a description of how tight it should be. Like 2 fingers between her and the vest or whatever it is supposed to be.Poor thing, she was so patient. We LOVE the lifting handles as we are seniors and I have the same condition. We could not figure out if it is the vest or us, so we exchanged it to try/start over. Speedy delivery and very excited as we have mandatory places to be.It is FILTHY DIRTY GROSS!Hair and who knows what all.It was not just tried on.It was awful. I don't know who's responsible for that issue but they did not clean it. I ordered new but at least clean will do.Now gotta figure out what to do.More later when we figure it out.Sending replacement back.Will figure out the original.Am copying this to send in the package.

This harness made it much safer and easier to assist our large, older dog who recently lost most ability to walk.
