So Clear
This is good, really good. I enjoyed it with great interest and pleasure. Try it; you won't have to wade through alternating pages of Devanagari.

Different perspective on Indian mythology
Different perception about the Indian mythology. Liked the coherency in the thought process and the overall flow and sequencing of presentation

The author's understanding of the original text he is "Translating" is non-existent.
He has taken liberty with most of work that ends up changing the end result of any understanding. In every way stay away from Devdutt. For anyone who has read any other translation or the original sanskrit text it is apparent that this and many of his other works are pure fantasy crafted from his own imagination and should not be relied upon as an authority of Hindu literature.

Invaluable as source of yoga myths and legends
As a teacher of yoga mythology, I use many of this authors books as my source material, and this one was particularly useful because it deals with seven different aspects of Vishnu, the second of the three primary trinity of Hindu gods.

Very good book
Must read book for those who want to learn Hindu mythology. As usual Devdutt has beautiful and rational explanations of different Vishnu’s avatars.

Very interesting and thought provoking read
Thought provoking! The interpretation of Lord Krishna like never before. Much needed in these times when we have lost our sense of self worth and are unaware of the beautiful meaning behind our cultural aspects.

Good read
This is a good book which summarily captures the stories of human avatars of Lord Vishnu. One thing that I found odd was Kalki avataar of lord Vishnu, which is yet to incarnate has been mentioned with skepticism by drawing parallels to its details - riding horse and carrying sword as weapon- with that of sword wielding mauraders from North west and Mongolia.
