Beautiful, too small, narrow.
For a barefoot shoe, too small in the toe box, and not flexible in the sole. Great looking, beautiful, but runs small, and too narrow for a true barefoot style. My feet are actually not wide, either. But if you are going for a natural toe splay and good movement it’s not the right shoe.

well made and comfortable
These boots have been on several day hikes and so far, I'm pretty happy with them. They are very roomy in the toe box and fit like a slipper or a sock. At first, I wasn't sure about the look - the roomy toe box makes them appear wide in that area. I thought maybe they look a little clownish. I don't think they look that way now though and I think it was because I'm used to looking at tight, narrow shoes. And I absolutely love the feel of that extra space!Obviously, being "barefoot" shoes, you can feel every rock on the trail but so far, I really like it! I haven't taken them on any serious hikes yet and once I do, I will update. Also - they do seem to be very well made.

Very well made, size up though...
I normally wear a 39 in European sizes or a USA size 8-8.5. This boot I had to purchase a size 40, or USA 9. I normally seem to wear a hiking boot as a size 9, so I didn't hesitate to purchase this size. According to sizing on website, this is a size 9-9.5. I would say it is definitely more of a 9. The point being, definitely size up by at least half from your normal size. These are very well made 0 drop boots. After converting to 0 drop, I don't think I can go back to anything else because it makes such a difference in one's gait and comfort. They have wide toes, but they do not fit as wide as I thought they would. I think the leather takes up some room inside the boot. It is a fairly light boot and I believe totally worth the price!

Make sure to size up for cold weather! Great for hiking
Best winter minimalist hiking boot that exists right now. Good ground feel, waterproof, and comfortable. My feet don’t hurt after hiking in these.Only downsides are they are not super grippy on ice (I add microspikes or crampons) and they can get cold in extreme temps due to the thin sole.Get a size or a size and a half up so you can layer thick merino wool socks and/or add another insole for warmth! I actually used to have these in a size and a half down and had to exchange so that I could wear thicker socks without squeezing my feet. Good news is my feet don’t slide around even in thinner socks. As long as you’re moving, your feet will probably be warm down to about 10-20F. If you’re hiking on snow or ice you may get colder feet!

Sole Separates from shoe.
So these boots where supper comfy and I loved them. HOWEVER after not even a month of work, the soles separate from the shoe. Unbelievable and very sad. I love these shoes so much I tried to give them a chance 3 times, every time they separate. Very poor craftmanship for such a expensive comfy boot.

They run shallow
I ordered up a size after reading a million reviews. I love the look of this boot, but that is not the most important thing. I am used to minimalist barefoot shoes, so that is not the issue for me. The issue is that these boots run shallow around the toe. They are nice and wide, but they are shallow, which squashes my foot from mid ball through the area where my toes meet my foot. I am persevering though. I initially put on a pair of thick socks and wore the boots around the house. Then I put on 2 pair of thick socks and wore them around the house for an hour. The next day, yesterday, I wore them with a thick wool sock and decided to test them on the trails. I did a 5 mile hike and while my feet still felt a little squashed/flattened, they didn’t go numb. The hike had 4 stream crossings. I deliberately stepped into water to test the waterproof-ness and they definitely kept my feet dry. They are nice and lightweight also. I imagine that the insole, if removed, will probably give my foot that extra space/height needed, which I may well do anyway as I bought these for summer hiking as I already use Danners for the colder days. I wouldn’t say this is an easy shoe to use right out of the box. The leather is quite stiff, but not in a way that is painful, it is just surprising. Overall I am going to continue to try and make these work for me. Rest day today, but I will probably wear them around the house again with 2 pair of thick socks just to help them along. On my hike I found that the shaft felt really good around my ankle - it felt cradled, but not tightly hugged.Sizing definitely runs small. I typically wear a US9/UK7/EU40, but in running and hiking shoes I go up a half size. These I got in a EU41/US10 and the length is great - enough room at the end for my toes to have space to move about and to move forward on the downhill, although while the toe box is fairly spacious, the boot seems to keep my foot pretty stable and it doesn’t slip forward although the room is there if it needed to.I didn’t know how many stars to give these boots since I have only had them for 2.5 days. I will be sure to come back and review things as I use them more.I forgot to add that the pair I was sent had been used. Nothing wrong with them other than a bit of dust and earth, but it was unexpected. So I decided to send them back after attempting to make them work for me. I have reordered the same size, but in men’s sizing. I spoke to someone at Vivo who told me that men and women sizes are pretty much the same in length, but the men’s is a little wider. Hopefully this will fix my problem. If not, I will have to give up, return these and try another brand.

These are easily the most expensive shoes I've ever bought
Just climbed Mt. Washington in New Hampshire & these kicked its arse!!! That is a mountain made of rocks. I literally climbed a ravine. Also I'd never climbed a mountain that high & my feet were the least of my problems. They really do regulate temperature well. No away tours, which is crucial when you get to the top of high mountains that get cold even in summer. These are easily the most expensive shoes I've ever bought. Trust me when I say that I make an entry level salary & still think these boots would be worth their salt at twice the price. I live in Manhattan so it's not like I've trained my feet for anything extreme. 8.5 hour hike. NO BLISTERS!SIZING: I'm normally a solid American size 10. The 42 was perfect. 41 was just too small.

I would recommend you treat them with waterproofing spray or other coating ...
Outer suede leather became brown with dirt first day I wore them on the trails. Tried to wash them with brush and soap but they remained permanently grey brown. I would recommend you treat them with waterproofing spray or other coating product before wearing outside. Really comfortable otherwise.

Brilliant boot
I'm a UK size 5 but I ordered a 6 in these. I have bought other vivobarefoot shoes before and I have always needed a 5 and a half. I'm glad I bought the 6 in the boots. They are very room around the main part of the foot but a 5 would have been too mall in length. They are so so comfortable.... Alot of walking in them straight away and no hint of a blister .... great boots. Added note I wore them all day in the snow yesterday. Normally my feet would be unable to cope with this as they get so very cold. I was digging pathways for hours so not walking fast or anything but my feet were SO warm. I have never had warm feet in the snow!!! these were well worth the money spent!!!!
