Does this product have cooling all over the head? Top sides back of neck?

Yes. There are two layers of small cooling compartments that go all the way around. You can move them around to cover the areas of the head or face you wish to have cooled. It does not have any packs on the top of the hat. This just has a hole where you can pull your hair through if you have long hair and want it out of the way.

Does the ice gel packs freeze hard?

Yes but you can refrigerate it and they would be soft. Also, you can sit it out of the freezer for a few minutes if you don't want the ice hard. Personally, I need the ice

Is this uncomfortable to try to sleep in?

Sooo uncomfortable. For one thing, the ice packs stayed almost ice-cube hard for a good while before they barely started to soften. Felt like a pillow made of cold rocks. Plus the ice packs were inches off (on me) from where they are supposed to line up. Honestly I've had a way easier time falling asleep with a thin-cloth-covered soft ice pack across my eyes and sinuses and heating pad under my back or on my tummy, vs. crazy ice-rock hat. Good luck! I've heard there are some great caps out there, but this ain't the one.

Because it is all over your head. And you can move the little ice pockets to the points that hurt the most. It also comes down to your neck.

INK BLEEDS AND STAINS

I left this product on the couch for 10 minutes and wore it to bed and found purple stains all over that won’t come out!!!!!!! Horrible cheap and a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glorified ice pack. The purple color stains everything from skin to pillow case. Waste of money. Should have stuck to the regular ice pack.
