It charged ok, but it seems like someone skipped a step during the assembly. I unplugged it and half of the plug housing was left in the surge protector!! Tried to reassemble it, but it wouldn't stay together. I'm returning this for a refund.

I bought this as a replacement charger for a 2015 15-inch MacBook Pro. The MagSafe connector required wiggling to connect properly and begin charging. After a few minutes of charging, the connector would become very hot. I checked and cleaned the contacts on my Mac - that didn't help. The second day I used this charger, the connector got so hot I literally couldn't touch it without burning my fingers. I mean it was "Oh s#!t! -- This is BAD!!!" hot. I used my knuckle to knock it off the Mac.Enough was enough. I bit the bullet and ordered a genuine Apple charger (at 4x the price). And the Apple charger is working perfectly. The Apple connector connects properly every time with no fiddling, and the MagSafe connector actually remains COOL during charging.I returned this knock-off. I read on Mac forums a few people saying chargers are the one peripherals that they always buy genuine Apple parts. I didn't want to believe it, but I have to agree with them. At this point, I'm glad it didn't seem to do any damage to my Mac... and didn't burn my house down.

Got this for my MacBook Pro Retina 2014. I was working out of 2 offices and was using the original charger that came with the computer. That charger is rather long and bulky so I decided to get a spare to keep at home. This spare works just like the original and charges the computer the same. As a matter of fact, it looks just like the original. I can't really tell the difference, except for the price which is a small fraction of what the Apple original costs which is $79 at the Apple Store. Long story short, get this if you're on the fence; you won't be disappointed.

I literally ordered this item around 11 pm. The next morning it was on my doorstep! The FASTEST delivery ever!! I’m so thankful for that because my original charger became a fire hazard. I used it one last time to get a full charge and hoped it would hold me over until I got this replacement. All I did was blink and there was the replacement. So far so good. This charger is lightweight and compact. It charges better than the original Apple charger the Mac came with. Of course the original charger is an old design and this one is modern and the perfect replacement for anyone with Mac that is a few years old. (update your charger to this one, faster charging and much easier to use since it's lightweight)

I purchased this charger to keep at work. I've never purchased one since MacBooks always come with them, and I was expecting it to be pricy. I was happy to find this off-brand version for a great price! It looks exactly the same as the charger that comes with a MacBook, and so far works great.
