Eastern Kashmiri Chilly Powder 100g/3.5oz 100% Natural

I have just recently started to try cooking Indian food at home. Many of recipes I was using had Kashmiri chillies as an ingredient, but I could never find them at my local store, so I just went without. Ultimately, I figured they probably didn't make that much of a difference. I finally thought to check Amazon, and got this bag. I can not overstate how much of a difference this ingredient makes for me! I like a little spice in my food, but I hate it when it is the foremost taste as well (if that makes sense). These chillies are not too hot, and not too assertive. If I want to increase the spice level, I can add more chillies without having to worry that the whole flavor of the dish is going to get overwhelmed. It "plays nicely" with other ingredients.

This is my "go to" chili powder when I want a little spice. This one definitely has a kick. If you don't like heat, this one's not for you. The flavor is delicate and goes well in about anything. I sprinkle it over sweet potatoes before roasting.

Red color is unique for this kind of chilli.Fresh product.

It has the color and the taste I'm looking for, but I reallly don't have any basis for comparison between this brand and another. Does the job just fine.

Between paprika and cayenne on the heat curve. Adds nice spark of flavor to dishes.

This added the perfect kashmiri flavor to my makhani! I couldn’t find whole kashmiris ANYWHERE, so after a long search, I gave up and substituted this kashmiri powder. It worked fantastic! The flavor is lovely, and it’s not too spicy, just a cozy warmth. I’m definitely going to be using this in more dishes.

I usually buy my kashmiri chili power at the Asian grocery store... but the usual COVID fear stops me from going out unless it's urgent. This was a pleasant surprise - nice and fresh and flavorful. A little more expensive than I would pay at the market, but I'm very happy with the quality.

I ordered this item in September of 2021. The item arrived with a small "spicy" sticker on the bag. I had read all of the reviews that said this was mild, so I was not sure what to expect. It brought a lot of heat as well as flavour to what I was cooking. A half teaspoon added to an 8-serving dish provided plenty of kick. I can tolerate a moderate level of heat and I could finish my serving and was getting close to my heat limit. It was too spicy for the youngster to eat, who can't tolerate much heat anyway, and was enough to satisfy the heat-lover. Buyer beware, apparently you don't know if you are going to get the hot or the mild version! It's a large quantity for the price, so I'd say it's worth the gamble. I'd like it better if I could choose which one I was going to get!
