'Tis the season for this decadent quartet of customary Spanish Christmas cookies. Bring a little bit of Spain to your house or gift to friends, colleagues or family. This handpicked surtido of cookies includes four of Spain’s most traditional holiday sweets. Alfajor Navideño (2 pieces) A mini version of the beloved Alfajor de Medina cake, this honey and almond spice cookie tastes like Christmas morning. Hazelnuts and almonds are ground and mixed with spices, then finished with powdered sugar to create subtle hints reminiscent of a cinnamon bun or hot apple cider. Ideal for nibbling with a cup of hot tea or coffee while the youngsters tear through stockings. Roscos de Vino (4 pieces) Resembling mini-donuts, these ring-shaped cookies have been a holiday favorite for centuries in Spain. Baked from a generations-old, family recipe, roscos de vino cookies combine just the right amount of sweetness with a touch of muscatel wine, creating festive fare for party platters or treats for indulging in with cocoa or a glass of dry wine. Mantecado Almendra (4 pieces) These customary Christmas shortbreads combine cinnamon, flour, sugar and extra virgin olive oil to create a crumbly, rich cookie that graces kitchens and bakeries across Spain. Serve after a large holiday meal for a small, sweet finale. Dunk in a glass of tea by the fireplace or nibble on with a generous glass of red wine after a long day of holiday shopping. Polvorón Almendras (6 pieces) This Spanish Christmas cookie pairs well with morning coffee or afternoon tea. These varieties are a lighter version of more traditional polvorón almendras due to their creation with olive oil in lieu of lard. The airier, sweet taste is grounded with a mix of toasted, crunchy almonds, leaving a hint of nuttiness on the palate.

What a perfect assortment of Spain's special cookies! All were delicious! I will definitely order again next year! (Pity that they aren't offered year-round, but probably better for my waist-line!)

As I just came from Barcelona, and the region, these are prevalent, especially during the holidays of course..>BUT......these are $.89/KILO there....and you get 16 cookies here for $30, quite exploitive...but yes, dam delicious. As I am finishing my bag and came hunting on Amazon here, my jaw dropped, as it's just criminal these people pawning these at a exploitive price. Oh well...!!
