The skis worked great
I purchased the skis because we have a 400’ gravel driveway that opens up to a 80’ x 70’ gravel parking area. I push a lot of gravel into through the auger in the past two years. I struggled to get the area plowed.Installed 3” skis on a three year old Simplicity 1227. Had to use washers to extend the skis past a carriage bolt on the auger housing. Purchased the washers at Lowe’s.We had a 7” snow last night and the skis worked as expected. They worked great. The blower did a great job gliding over the uneven areas. Very few rocks made it to the auger. The skis are very robust and I expect them to last for years. Very happy with purchase. One suggestion is to push down on blower handles, raising auger, when turning on gravel. This will prevent the skis from “digging”into the gravel while making a turn.

Sturdy well made product
Moved into a house with a stone driveway a few years ago in NJ, had our first major snowstorm in 5 yrs a few weeks back. Snowblower did ok as long as I leaned it back slightly so it didn’t throw stones everywhere. First thing I thought is how a ski like foot would be an ideal solution over the useless standard feet. It would allow me to glide more over the stones without digging a trench; but also allow me to control the height of the auger. After searching Amazon for only a few minutes, I found these. Cudos to the seller providing the very specific measurements so that in would get exactly what bolts to my model thrower. It took about 10 mins total to bolt on and adjust to my liking; now we wait for another snowfall...This is a sturdy and well made product.Wanted to give thanks where it is due....

Wow!
Our snowblower is only one season old yet the plastic skids were completely worn away. Our driveway is gravel so we need skids to keep the lip of the blower high enough to clear the rocks and bumps. These heavy-duty skids work perfectly and should last 10 years (not an official claim)! Since two skids come in the package the cost really isn't that far off from ordering two of the manufacturer's plastic replacements. The last snow was wet and heavy so the blower kept trying to ride up. This would happen with any skid on this type of snow but *MAY* be a bit more pronounced with this skid since the ends to arch up like ski tips. We installed with the thinner tips forward so that should help that situation.Definitely a worthy upgrade!

Well made and very strong.
Excellent product. Very durable and well made. The skid surface is thick so it should last a long time. I bought these to go on my snowblower that attaches to my lawn tractor. So the thick skid surface is important seeing all the weight of the snowblower attachment will rest on the skids. I would have given this product a 5 star because they are so good but I had to only give it a 4 star because they didn’t have the fifth slot in the middle as seen in some of the pictures. It only had the two on the left and two on the right. My snowblower attachment has 3 bolts so I was only able to use 2 bolt holes to attach the skids.I would buy again even though it didn’t have the fifth slot. Overall these are awesome skids.

Retrofit Honda HS828 with ArmorSkids - two thumbs up!!
I have an older version of the Honda HS828 where the skids are mounted to the back of the auger housing. The OEM back-mounted skids kept catching on rough terrain jolting the machine and cracking the auger housing steel. I searched for alternate skids and saw a number of smaller side-skids options. When I saw the ArmorSkid and read all the positive reviews I knew this was what I was looking for but I didn't have side skids bolts to use for mounting them so I made a cardboard template of where I wanted the ArmorSkids to attach. Then I marked, drilled, and filed square holes to receive a 3/8" carriage bolt. I added spacers to clear the OEM bottom skid blade adjustment bolt on the ends of the housing. I attached the the ArmorSkids with stainless steel bolts, spacers, and lock nuts and they provide the clearance needed for our rough driveway. So far, they work great and I highly recommend them.

Saving a fortune on SHEAR PINS
I purchased these skids for my briggs and stratton S1227 snow blower. I have a very loooong gravel driveway that goes uphill and a large gravel parking area. I was snapping a shear pin almost every time I would snow blow. Gravel would get caught in the auger. This year I am using the Armor Skids and wow is life so much better. The skids keep the snow blower riding above the gravel. (occasionally I hit a high spot in the gravel but not like before) I love these new skids, I can clear my driveway the parking area and the dirt road leading to our home with no problems and only lost one shear pin this year and that was to a branch buried in the snow. I am very impressed.

Snowblower shoes
Much thicker steel at the bottom than the original, where it counts, and wider as well. Bolted right in and seems fine. No snow yet to try it out. My driveway is gravel, 700 feet long and uphill from the road. No one wanted to plow it. The old shoes would barely make it through one season, and some didn't even last that long. Granted, my drive is longer than most, but that's what drew me to this product. That extras thickness and width of the shoe should make it easier to do this year.
