I've had the VR Gear device for about 8 months and I've loved everything about it from day one with the exception of one glaring flaw... the constant overheating. I would just be getting into a game or movie and the overheating prompt would totally kill the experience. I turned off all the processes but still had issues.I'm happy to say this cooling device works! So far I've had this cooling fan a couple of days and played several games and a movie and I haven't seen the prompt since I started using it.PROS:• IT ACTUALLY WORKS• I can play games and watch movies without interruption• It looks great and fits on the gear perfectly• Long battery life (I've only charged it once when it arrived. I'm not sure how many hours)• The touch button is very cool… NO MOVING PARTS• Fan is very quiet• Solid construction and light weight I don't have any cons yet. I'll come back and update my post if anything changes. So far, I definitely recommend it if you have overheating issues.

Normally I don't review products I order. I thought I should throw in my 2¢ about a product I was very pleasantly surprised. My biggest compliment is the build quality. Time will tell how long it lasted. However my initial impressions about how well this cooler is made left me very impressed! The molding for this unit is extremely clean. The battery is hidden neatly next to the cooling fan. If there had been a Samsung logo instead of Asterion's I would completely believe it. I used it for roughly half an hour. Took my GS7 edge out and felt the back. Normally the phone would be noticeably hot to the touch. After using this simple cooler I was completely cool. Drawbacks? It makes some noise as others have mentioned. It's to be expected and when using headphones it's not noticeably. Its light as well so added weight is also barely noticeable. Overall if you own a Gear VR, don't think about it. Just get it.

This thing is sweet! I almost went with the only other custom gear vr fan, but took a chance on this one and love it. The fan and cable came in a neat looking box and were packaged appropriately. Best part is the clean design that doesn't have an exposed battery pack or cables that are visible.Charged up pretty quick and the fan wasn't too loud. You can hear it for sure, but that seems to be the nature of really small fans. The light noise should be covered easily by headphones.

What I find annoying with most phones is when they overheat. Now take your phone and put it in a hot box and the Edge was overheating constantly. I thought if I took the Gears cover off it would help but the phone just couldnt breath. Not expecting anything, I searched for a cooling fan and it came up. The design is flawless, quit, rechargeable and Incredibly light. Worth every penny.

I am not one to normally write reviews, but after using the product I felt like I needed to. I purchased the Gear VR a couple of weeks ago on a whim thinking it would be fun to play around or watch some 360 movies with. I have a Galaxy S7 Edge, and just like I thought the games / movies were awesome. The problem was that after about 15 minutes the device would get too hot and I would receive a message informing me I needed to let it cool down. I tried cutting off other apps and background items per some tutorials and then also tried cooling gel pads, but those would get me maybe 30 minutes before the message would pop up again.I saw some homemade fans that people had made, but I really did not want to make one. I finally searched to see if Amazon carried a pre-done one, and I stumbled on this one. I read through every review considering it was almost what I paid for the VR itself before deciding to go for it. This was the difference between me using it as a novelty to show family and friends for a few minutes or me getting some real value out of the Gear VR.This fan works great! I have played 3 sessions at approximatley 1.5 hours each, watching videos / playing games, and when I take my phone out of the VR it feels like it has just been sitting on my desk. Cool to the touch. Comes with a charging cord and the unit itself. After charging for a couple hours I have not had to charge it again yet, and it snaps right on to the VR securely. I have not had any issues with it being loose or the fan itself being too loud.Great product, payed full price for this and would totally recommend.

I'm running the 1st generation consumer headset and an s6 Edge. I was having really bad overheating issues. I could only play games for 20 minutes before I had to stop. I tried every work around and fix out there and it didn't help. So I shelved my Gear VR. Then I found this product.It works! Really well! The price point was great and the reviews were good so I took a chance and am glad I did. I can play on my Gear VR as long as the fan is running. I went hours without a single issue and when I finished the phone was still cool to the touch. The fan fits perfectly on the headset and is very well made.It does add a little to the weight of the headset and, unfortunately, the weight is all up front so it is noticeable. Also, the fan is a bit loud. But neither of these issues is that big of a deal to me because it made my VR sessions longer. Besides, if you are wearing headphones you will not hear the fan.All in all, this is an excellent product and I highly recommend it. It has breathed fresh life into my Gear VR.
