World's SoftestMen's/Women's Classic Collection Over-the-Calf Socks

I have been looking for this brand for years, having bought a previous pair many years ago on vacation at an outlet mall. I never could find them. I ride horses, wear boots much of the time and wore my previous pair completely out. These socks are the perfect length to keep your boots from rubbing your calves and they are so soft. I even wore them on warmer days with no sweating or chafing from heat. I haven't found any socks that worked as well, even cotton tube socks. I always remembered the name and when I saw these, I grabbed them. They are exactly the same as my previous pair. They are pricey, in my opinion, but I purchased several pair to have on hand. I really don't want to be without them again. They are a great, soft, most comfortable and warm sock. Delivered on time and packaged well. So glad I found them after all these years.

I understand what a couple reviewer said about these being "too thick" and "winter socks only". They are very thick and fuzzy soft. But, they did not make my feet too hot in sneakers on a 72 degree day. They are thicker than average white athletic socks, but that seems to provide good cushion inside my shoe, and also moisture wicking. I wore them for several hours in sneakers with no foot sweating. I am flabbergasted that 100% man-made, unnatural fabrics can do this!They are also SUPER soft, which is what I wanted.They fit my foot and leg like a glove. I got the "over the calf" which is really a full knee sock. I'm 5'9" with very long legs so beware on the length of the sock leg if you are short. I also have a skinny calf and these hugged me in a comfortably snug way. But it makes me think that men or people with heavier/thicker calves could have trouble with these as there was not much more room in them. The tops DO stay up though--very well.My 6 month hunt for socks is finally over I believe. I am going to order some classic ankle and crew socks from this company and hopefully I'll be all set for all the seasons!

I'm a repeat customer for the World's Softest Socks (Over the Calf). I had been using the "Large" size which fit better than most over-the-calf socks for me. I thought I'd try a pair of the "X-Large", just to see how much of a difference it would make. (Amazon's 'sizing chart' doesn't list socks by "Large" or "X-Large"). "Fit as expected" doesn't do justice as a fit rating...this pair fits me perfectly, I'm happy to report. I wear size 15, extra wide shoes....which often leaves me without options when it comes to shoes or socks, hehe. I hadn't realized that the "Large" size was leaving my toes feeling cramped, after a long day...I thought it was my shoes. After wearing these "X-Large" with the same shoes...no cramped feeling in the toes. Obviously, I've been wearing one size too small. The "Large" size came to just over mid-calf on me, and the "X-Large" come all the way up over the calf (I've shrunk a bit over the years to about 6ft 3inches). For everyone tall, with big wide feet, I heartily recommend the "X-Large" size...I know I'm buying more. By the way, these socks are very well made, and last a long time. They do come with a good warranty, and I know a couple of years ago, the manufacturer had a little trouble with their quality, for a short period of time. I'd bought about 5 pairs at one time, and the same sock in each of the packages had a toe seam unravel (before I wore them), but they were quick to replace them for me. For years before that event, I'd never had a problem with their socks, and since then, their quality has been great, I've found no defects in any of the socks I've bought or received. These are the best socks I've ever worn.

I love these socks and have bought several pairs over the years. This newer type (they are not the exact same socks that originally were on the market). The shrink quite a bit width- wise and they feel like a size smaller after about 4 or less washes. They were never dried on a hot setting. I was lucky they still are okay for me, though if your legs are stocky I would consider a size larger than you need in case they shrink too much for you. You could try ordering only one pair to try out as they are relatively expensive. You could still find them useful (if they did not shrink too much for your required fit) as a lounging pair of socks to wear around the house. They are very soft and thick, so they help you avoid blisters while walking or running but do require a half-size larger shoe in most cases because of the bulkiness. Since I always buy my walking/exercise shoe larger to accommodate thick socks, I was not surprised.

I’ve worn these socks since moving from a warm climate to one that has a actual winter. As soon as the weather turns cool, my feet get cold. These socks are soft and thicker than others, so I have to go up to a half size bigger shoe, but, with my boots and these socks, my feet stay warmer.

I was happy with these at first, but two things that bother me, especially for the price. The top is a bit too tight for my comfort and after a few washes, they pile horribly as the pictures show. I wear open toed sandles so not a good thing. They are very soft and wish they were my to go to socks, but, I'm still on the search for that all around comfortable sock.

The socks are very soft. However, they are so thick that depending on the shoes I wear, it's difficult to put shoes on. The other problem is that the elastic doesn't hole the socks up high. I constantly need to pull them up. I am hoping that after they are washed a few times, that the elastic will relax enough so that they will not pull down.. Honestly, I opened all 8 pairs I ordered and put them away. Then, started wearing them. That's when I learned they won't stay up. If I had tried on 1 pair first, I would have returned them for the larger size. However, my shoe size is 9 1/2 and 10 starts the next biggest size (only 2 sizes of socks). I should have gotten the big ones.
