Pickle pipes.
Excellent product. Perfect for fermentation. Extremely durable and work fantastic. Will definitely be purchasing more of these. They are a bit expensive for 4 of them. But they are easy to use and have made fermenting foods easier, as the jars burp themselves.

Simple and effective
These are my favorite fermentation lids. They vent properly, letting gasses out without letting air in, so I don't get any liquid leaking from the jar. You must still use a weight to keep the contents submerged. - Place your food, herbs, spices, salt, and water in the jar, leaving enough headspace for the weight. - Place the weight on top of the food, making sure that it is not higher than the top of the jar. - Place the Masontops lid on the jar. - Secure with a ring. - Allow the jar to ferment until it's ready. When it's ready to go in the fridge, remove the weight and replace the masontops lid with a standard one or two piece lid.

The Best but Expensive
I've been fermenting quite a bit. I have had failures with water-airlocks, but never a failed ferment with these. Not to say it can't happen, but if you pick your produce well and chemical-free, no-wax, and if you sanitize your jar, weight and top, these tops clearly minimize chances for failed fermentation. Pros: Easiest to use, easiest to clean, sturdy and flexible material, consistently great quality. Cons: Really expensive for 4 slabs of silicone sold in a cheap plastic container. Tip: I spray my jars, weights and lids and airlocks with 3% Hydrogen Peroxide to sanitize them. Mist them all over and let them sit in it for 15 to 20 seconds, then rinse in distilled or filtered water. Tap water can kill your ferment, folks! I've learned to make my brine in a big pyrex measuring bowl. I weigh 7 grams or one level teaspoon of kosher salt or pickling salt into each cup of filtered water. I make extra brine, usually a quart, because I'd rather have too much than too little brine. I layer my veggies, herbs & spices, leaving lots of room at the top of the jar! place my weight, then add the brine very slowly to cover it all! Pouring slowly pretty well stops air bubbles from getting trapped under the veggies. I only use plastic utensils to stir the brine, and I'm sure wood works too, but they tell us not to use metal in our ferment because metal has antibacterial qualities. It's fine to use a metal Mason jar ring outside over the Pickle Pipes to hold them down. Good luck with your ferments!

Bubble and Burp
These silicone tops are the easy solution to "burping" fermenting hot sauce or other foods. They fit the jar lid well and provide both the seal and "relief" through a slip in the nipple on top. Easier to use than fermentation locks, but I use both

Excellent product. Makes fermenting simple.
I had never tried fermenting anything but I wanted to make Kimchi. I bought these and some mason jars and Googled some instructions and recipes. These things make it so simple that now I’m fermenting everything, including blackberries. I kept hearing about exploding jars and mould - nothing! They take care of themselves. I just filled them, stuck a shot glass in to press everything down, and left them for a week. I bought the smaller size but I will be buying more of both sizes. Really great product and really easy to clean.
