SkechersMen's After Burn Memory Fit - Strike Off Lace-Up Sneaker

Originally, I thought these shoes were the bee's knees but after just over two months of wearing them, the memory foam is already disintegrating. While I do wear these daily, I thought I'd get, at least, a year before having to consider replacing the pads with Dr. Scholl's or something.

I was replacing an older pair of Skechers that were the most comfortable shoes ever! Since it appears they didn't make that particular style anymore, I ordered these. The fit is great, but the memory foam doesn't go edge to edge, creating an uncomfortable feeling particularly by the toes. The old style went edge to edge and the difference is huge. I added some inserts that took care of the problem, but I shouldn't have to. The tread is pretty aggressive and thick, which reduces the flexibility of the shoes. Overall, I'm happy with the shoes, but disappointed in the differences noted above.

This is the 1st time purchasing Skechers and they're very good shoes. I walk an average of 8 to 10 miles a day. I normally wear orthodics however, I decided to go without those and use the gel inserts and my feet were fine.The center of the heel on the gel inserts did wear out. Previous to purchasing these shoes, I had a pair of new balance to which I wore out and the 3 months. New Balance said I did not tie my shoes properly and that is why the inside back of the heel wore out.These Sketchers shoes have lasted, up to this point, twice as long are solid sturdy and durable shoes. I have already purchased extra pairs for when my current ones where out which they have yet to. Well done Sketchers.

My husband walks 4 miles 5 mornings a week. He began experiencing heel pain so I bought this shoe for him after reading about what the shoe offers. Well, my husband says it's the best shoe he has ever had! Great job Sketchers.

So the shoes themselves are great and a good size. but the memory foam makes it impossible to secure them to your foot barring cutting off all circulation to your feet. I absolutely love the styles of the shoes, but the mandatory memory foam is a disaster and makes me not want to buy skechers anymore. I mean what is the point of wearing shoes that slip around on your feet and only provide support the correct way when you are sitting down. when I walk my toes get jammed into the front of the shoe because there is no traction in the bottom of the shoe.like i said good shoe design but horrible soles.

I really like the style and the fact they come in extra wide. The main downside is the memory foam insoles, which seem to be used on many shoes these days. Since memory foam doesn't last, perhaps companies sell more shoes...? Whatever their reason, my bad experience with memory foam insoles led me to realize that memory foam may work well for mattresses, but when all your weight is concentrated to your feet, it compresses all the way to the bottom, eventually staying there after only a couple of months, leaving no cushioning. And since it isn't a durable material, it rips quickly. However, while Sketchers uses strong glue to keep them in, the glue doesn't cover the entire bottom of the insole, and they can be removed - if you haven't worn the shoes. If you pull the insoles out VERY slowly and carefully, you can get them to come out in about an hour. Pulling on them too fast causes them to rip and pieces of the foam to stick to the bottom. I replaced mine with the $30 Spenco Total Support insoles, and now the shoes are not only firm instead of squishy, but have a nice cushion and arch support.

No show will get 5-star review from me until they last a year of daily wear. These are the best for the money that I have found. The memory foam insole gradually adjusts and forms a near orthopedic insole. This lasts for a couple months and then starts to go flat.....as is typical for shoes in this price range. All things considered, these are the best shoes for the price that I have found.....great bang for your buck.

Looking for a good walking/trail shoe for upcoming travels. Primarily a New Balance wearer (require extra wide size and roomy toe box as I use custom orthotics) but wanted something that breathes (vs. leather) and prefer beefier sole (vs. Newbalance 928s - very comfy, breathable, but just too white and not much grip on soles) but was VERY skeptical about buying "Sketchers" because I always thought of them as tweeny girl shoes. Was very impressed with this shoe. 4W was pretty much 4W. Shoe was very light and sole had lots of traction. I easily removed the glued down memory foam footbed, inserted my custom orthotic, and even tried putting back the flat memory foam footbed and worked pretty good. Would prefer a little more room in tongue area, but by adjusting shoe laces was able to wear both fairly comfortably. Would have preferred tongue a little wider because when I loosened laces to accommodate both insoles, there were small gaps on one side of tongue, so had to slide tongue to one side just right to hide my socks. So far show seems very comfortable on concrete, steps and fairly warm weather. Stock foot beds make you feel like walking on air. Durability probably not as rugged as it looks but will see. BTW for the price can't go wrong either way - Outstanding value for good shoe.

Incredibly comfortable and I've got planters foot. Wear them at work all day and I walk 9 miles a day!

Always get same style for dad who has wide feet ,he loves them

I love these shoes. So comfy very well made and perfect fit for me. When I can afford I want another pair.

These shoes are very comfortable and fit very well. The price was significantly less than the Asics gel walkers I've been using for the past few years and they are actually a bit more comfortable I think. Some of my previous shoes tended to pinch my feet, so I like the extra width.I've had them about a month now and have probably put around 100 miles on them already and so far they are holding up well. During the week I walk in the city on sidewalks mostly and on the weekend I hit the trails which are usually gravel or crushed stone so they have been on a variety of surfaces.I have two slight beefs with them. The shoe laces are a bit on the long side and sometimes you step on them and the shoes come undone. The other thing is if they get wet, they take awhile to dry out. Other than those minor complaints, I love the shoes and would recommend them

These are without a doubt the most comfortable shoes I've ever purchased. They fit perfectly to the size I ordered and I'm considering purchasing another pair for a different color. I've let different friends try them on and they all bought pairs as well. The memory foam sole feels great, better than any sole I've purchased (including Dr. Scholls).I would recommend these shoes to anyone.

The memory foam is a gimmick at best. Within a month of walking with these, the foam came off in chunks, which didn't effect the comfort per se, but wasn't very durable. I initially thought it was a faulty pair of sneakers, and Amazon replaced them for me, but within a month the new ones had holes in the memory foam, so I knew it was the foam at fault, not a second bad pair of sneakers.

I love to be able to find extra large shoes, they are usually very hard to find. I bought this model last year and my son found it very comfortable. The shoes have been worn a lot and it was starting to show, but even then, it's still in great shape. My feet measure an 11-2E - so these are are pretty good overall. They definitely are a tad wider than I need, but I have tried on 4E's in the past that are like pontoons, whereas these are quite nice. So far, nice and durable for good long walks.One tiny, but great feature is the plastic double-shoelace-hole for the last two holes. I tend to use heel-lock lacing, and on so many other shoes, that can unfortunately lead to the laces almost 'sawing' into the holes. This - no problem because of that insert.My only knocks are:- The memory foam insert is useless. Peel it out (it's glued in; use a hair dryer to help pull out) and replace with some higher quality inserts.- I'd really love to see a bit more springiness and cushion in the soles.- They are somewhat heavy.But overall, I really like these so far and are good value for money.

These are great shoes.I'm a geezer with a bad back and hip who does a lot of walking to manage my discomfort and these are the best shoes I've had in years. I wear an 11 m and the fit is perfect and the memory foam insole is really comfortable. Kudos to amazon as well - ordered them Monday, had them sent to local post office and they were ready for pickup Wednesday. i'll be buying another pair in a different colour. Cannot stress enough how comfortable they are.

A perfect blend of rugged and comfortable shoe.Very flexible and light weight inspite of the solid build. The only problem is that the multinational companies treat us INDIANS on low priority.The west has 8.5 variants whereas for me 8 was too tight and 9 was a bit loose.Skechers , please start providing the midsize option to Indian customers too as we are one of your biggest clients

Slow to ship but transport was right on time. The shoes are very nice. Very Very nice. I use them every day for the morning and afternoon dog walk. I even find myself wearing them to the office, my feet feel great, weather I'm walking to the office from transit or walking all day in our office with concrete floors. The gel foot bed is really nice. But I do find on hot days, my feet don't get a bit sweaty on the soles, there just is not much air circulation with the gel. But that's a small niggle. I recommend them highly.

I haven't worn it much yet as I still have 2 other pairs that I want to finish off but so far it has certainly met all expectations - very comfortable shoe and I am sure it will give many miles of satisfactory service.

These are without a doubt the most comfortable shoes I have ever tried on. My job involves a lot of stair climbing and walking that has caused a lot of foot issues of for me. These shoes have ended my foot woes !!!! I have very wide feet and these fit perfectly. I will be ordering another pair as soon as possible. Thank you sketchers!!!!!

La livraison est très bien. Bonne boite solide. Les souliers sont bien protégés. La couleur proposé est la même. Format aussi. La grandeur est parfait . Très bon soulier, avec renfort à l'intérieur coussin pour pour le pied. Léger et confortable. Aucune mauvaise surprise . Les lacets sont peut-être un peu petit si vous voulez faire un motif autre que normal. Sinon très bon achat.

Walking. I haven't found the shoes or boots that I need for me. When you use to sell the stricker sneakers that use to help my crush heel. I am so disappointed that with me you have taken something off the market that work for people who has problems with there feet. It was in front of your nose. This product would have sold for years to come. Who ever decide to take it off the market should be fired. That's my opinion.Mike Fournier
