Lubricate the cone on the tool and the pipe that you are flaring and you will get a 100% factory fresh flare every time. When you examine the flare you will KNOW that it will never leak. When you join the pipes together, make sure you coat them with a bit of refrigerant oil. They will never leak.

This flaring tool works great for making perfect flares on copper tubing. It it sturdy and well built. The price is reasonable, and the eccentric forcing cone makes very nice, perfect flares on copper tubing. I have not used it on aluminum yet. I have used it on 1/4 and 3/8 . The flares were the perfect size and the clutch mechanism ensures you do not over crush the flare. The copper. insertion depth limiter ensures consistent insertion and the correct flare size without splitting the tube or making the flare too small. My previous flaring tool also would come completely apart. The clamp piece was separate from the top piece with the forcing cone. This one stays together as one assembly, but is easy to use. The indents and alignment marks make for proper alignment for flaring the tube. I highly recommend it.

My first flare. I went to auto parts store at first and bought what I didn't realize was a "Brake" flaring tool. Totally different flare. I hooked up a mini split in my motorhome and had to cut the lines to a smaller length. I love the clutch feature. I am 65 so it was easy on the hands. Great tool, great value. Hooked up lines no leaks on first try.

Really good tool for making a flare. Has a stopper on it for the pipe. So the pipe will never go too far or not far enough. Always makes the perfect flare. Yet to have a leak.

I got the product quickly and as promised by Amazon. This product is great. I am a refrigeration tech. Works like a charm . it's light too. clutch works good. the lock works good and stops at the precise point of each size. You can be happy with this. There was a 1/4 flare inside the block when I opened the box but I am not concerned as it could have been for product testing. Unit was mint condition. Buy this product. I like it very much. its worth it.
