Quiet Power!
I recently had to replace my old garbage disposal and decided to go with the Moen GX50C Disposer from their Prep Series. And let me tell you, it's been an eye-opener.My previous disposal was so loud, it felt like it could wake up the entire neighborhood every time I used it. It was one of those things you don't realize how bad it is until you experience something better. And this Moen disposal? It's a world of difference. It's not completely silent – I don't think any disposal can be – but it's as close as you can get to a quiet dream. It operates with a mild hum that's surprisingly soothing compared to the racket I was used to. And it doesn't just sound better; it works great too. It pulverizes food waste like a champ, leaving nothing but oblivion in its wake.Installation was pretty straightforward, and it comes with a power cord included, which is always a plus. The sound reduction technology Moen has used in this model really stands out. It's a relief not having to brace myself for a wall of noise every time I need to dispose of food scraps. In short, I absolutely love this disposer. If you're in the market for a new garbage disposal and noise level is a concern for you, I'd highly recommend the Moen GX50C. It's efficient, relatively quiet, and a significant upgrade from the older, louder models.

Nice quiet disposal
This is an awesome disposal! Mine died so i reached out to a friend who works with plumbing often and suggested this one. Arrived quick and I was able to hook it up with ease. I figured it would be rough since I never installed one before but it was very easy. The disposal is quiet and has great drainage! Overall great quality!

We call it the Cow
I'm giving this five stars because it works well and was easy to install - replacing an insinkerator that had failed. My only slight gripe is that it sounds like a mooing cow when it's run. It's not overly loud but it just sounds different - and subjectively, unpleasant - when it's on. I have no reason to think this isn't how it is supposed to sound so I can't deduct any points for it but it's just something to note.I replaced an insinkerator with this and it was relatively painless.Thankfully, the bracket that is attached to the sink is the same one that comes with this so I didn't have to un-do any of that. I basically just released the old unit and stuck this one on. The instructions are kind of confusing because they have to cover every possible situation that you might be installing into but if you are replacing an existing unit, I gather the brackets on the bottom of the sink are pretty standard so you shouldn't have any trouble. Don't make it harder than it needs to be is I guess what I'm saying.I've been using this for several months now and it's working fine and I've gotten used to the baying of the disposal cow under my sink.

Seems to be well built, works fine
Replaced a Badger 5 unit that started leaking from the bottom. I had 2 of those Badger 5 units in the last 6 years. BOTH started leaking shortly after the 2 years warranty expired. Upon disassembly of the 2nd unit, I found that the bottom of the wet chamber/top of the motor is made out of regular stamped steel. Seems to be "calibrated" to last just enough for the warranty. I extended the life of that 2nd Badger 5 by sanding that piece to bare metal (had a lot of rust pin holes) and coating it with JB Weld. The fix lasted almost 2 years. Now I purchased this Moen unit (done with Badger 5), and I'm happy to report that the bottom of the wet chamber is not metal but sturdy plastic, so at least it shouldn't rust. Unit is a little bit quieter and cheaper than the Badger 5, although I had to modify the drain pipes a little. The one thing I don't like about this Moen unit is the rubber piece that goes inside the drain (they call it splash guard). Looks cheaply made comparing to the old one on the Badger 5, and somehow restricts the flow of water. Might end up swapping it out. We'll see how this unit holds up.Update: I could not stand the splash guard that came with this thing anymore. Got tired of water pooling or having to use my hands to push the crap down the hole for this disposer to work. Swapped with an Insinkerator style guard (see attached picture) , and it's working the way it should now. But noise levels went up. Oh well....cannot have everything.

Garbage Blending Champ!
Whe leaves a review for garbage disposal? I do. So, here the facts.. its works great, the instructions and install was super easy, the actual only issue I ran into was the uninstallation or my old disposal. This one is quieter, stronger, faster and black, grey with chrome so it looks good everytime I open the bottom cuboards and come with a matching top plug! So..some advice..If your installing the dishwasher remember to pop out the white plastic piece to allow the dish washer flow, the instructions are very easy to follow and walk you through this and every single step, and was the maon reason I had no issues with install, cause I like to skip around, but they are very well written and digragramed. I also added an extention switch next to the sink faucet (where a soap dispenser would go, youtube it if you need more info) so I dont have to reach over to turn it on. Yeah, were spoiled, haha anyways... this was a good buy for me, old disposal i had was previous installed with house, so it was ok.. but a no name brand and died and started clogging up, now I am staying with good brand and reputation, even if its a little more these are priced well, and they function better, last longer and come with registation warranties. Anyways, I hope this helps and yes I recommend this disposal. Happy Install and have a great day!

Moen 1/2 Horse Power Food Disposal
Bought this under sink food disposal because we love our Moen hands free kitchen sink faucet. The disposal was easy to install and works well. Liked the fact that it came with an installed power cord with plug. It’s not excessively noisy but not as quiet as expected. Overall it’s still a 5 star disposal. Strongly recommend.
