Adequate Budget Dashcam. Rear camera is VGH, NOT 720p
This is an adequate budget dashcam. I installed it with a hardwire kit purchased separately. The installation was as easy as any other dashcam. The card capacity is limited to 32GB so it only records about 2 hours of front cam footage before writing over. The front video records in 1080p and looks pretty good for the price point. Overall its cheap peace of mind and meets insurance requirements if you get a discount for having a dashcam. The "G Sensor" feature is way to sensitive for my driving. Even on the high setting it locked the majority of the videos so I had to turn it off to ensure loop recording without having to wipe my memory card manually on a regular basis.I tried the constant power "parking mode" with motion detection but it just drained my car battery down. I have a voltage sensing hardwire kit so it never drained the battery down until the car would not start but it drained it down enough the kit would cut power to the camera and turn it off. This made the parking mode useless so I just changed which fuse I tapped power off of and now the camera is powered off of the ignition ON position. The camera turns on quickly when the car starts and turns off when the car turns off after a 10 second delay. The rear camera was a disappointment. It records in 640x480 VGA resolution. I installed it in the top centre of my rear window and it works adequately but I was disappointed to find it records in such low resolution. There is not a setting to change the rear camera resolution. Indeed, you can not even watch the rear camera videos on the dashcam, front camera only. Its like the rear camera independently interfaces to the memory card and writes to it but the front camera can not see those files. I didnt trust the "waterproof" label and its just easier to install it in the window. Did not come with screws for camera but I used double sided sticky tape. See the video attached to the review for an example of me almost getting rear ended on the highway.Overall, you get what you pay for and given how prevalent theft from vehicles is in my area I didn't want to spend a lot of money on the dashcam. This camera boasts premium features but they don't work right. If you want a cheap dashcam that turns on when your car is on, records, and turns off when you turn the car off this is the camera for you. If you want more features and HD rear camera resolution then you need to pay more.

Its a great starter camera
Ok I've had this dashcam for about three weeks, now's the perfect time to write this review. The Apexcam Dash Camera is a pretty great Dashcam. For about 60 bucks you get a dashcam that has most of the features of pretty much all dashcams. Setup is easy, installation is easy as well (mostly), the picture quality is pretty darn good, and the "G sensor" and motion sensor work perfectly. This dashcam also comes with a Rear camera with a back up assistance feature. For now I'm personally just using the primary dashcam as I dont have the proper tools to setup the rear facing camera. With the rear camera I have to run the cords from the camera to the back of the car and ive somehow got to splice in a cable from the rear camera into the backup lights in order to use the back up assistance feature. Needless to say that is beyond my expertise. Now let get to the two things that annoy me with this camera, the first being that according to the instruction manual the camera can only support SD cards up to 32gbs, that's quite annoying, it's 2021 before I bought the camera I went out and bought a 128gb card for it only to read that I couldn't use it in the camera. My second gripe is directly related to the first, the camera is advertised as having loop recording, For those that don't know that basically means the camera once the SD card is full should loop over (delete) old recordings to make space for new ones.............This camera dont do that. What is does is once the SD card gets full it stops recording and tells me the card is full and it won't record nothing else till I delete footage from the card. Remember what I said earlier about the camera only supporting SD cards up to 32gbs. This means if i clear the camera on a Monday (my commute to work is about 20 minutes, and I work 5 days a week) by Thursday morning the SD card is full and I've got to format it again in order to record. This is why I've only given 4 stars in my review instead of 5. This is a great camera, with great features for a great price and I'd happilly recommend it to anyone but my issues with the small SD card size and the lack of advertised Loop recording are the only things keeping it from a perfect score.

Beautiful picture quality and overall unit quality! But...
I am still trying to learn this unit. It's aggravating that there is no phone number provided for customer support. Sometimes you need answers quicker than waiting on a reply from an email. I have to keep referring to Youtube videos. Thank God for those people. Anyways after watching videos I've seen that they don't recommend the Sandisk micro sd card that I had already bought so I am waiting on a higher quality one and with more memory. The videos say that dashcam sd cards are corrupted or worn out quicker from the constant overwriting so I orderd a 128 and higher quality. I've had some issues with my camera allowing me to push options with the card in the camera. I had to keep taking it out to be able to pull up the menu or mode options. I can't get it to stop recording if I am trying to push other features unless I take the card out. So I had to keep putting it back in and reformatting. Hopefully the new card will allow me to use it without taking the card out to push options. So for now it recording is what I bought it to do so we will see. The video is beautiful and high quality. I have not yet hooked up the rear camera. One thing I definitely do not like about it is that it does not have a usb port on the charger and the charger is the kind that can only go in the cigarette lighter charger. Fortunately I have an extra usb port inside my glove box but it take hours to charge my phone. I can't plug the camera into my dash charger and I can't charge my phone in the console like usual. They need to upgrade and add a usb port and also make it detachable to be able to plug in other options. I am afraid to buy another cord with these features because the manual says a few times not to use anything other than what came with it. Also the manual could use some readjusting. For one make the print larger. Also all of the buttons featured are numbered and labeled but a lot of the information is on the other page. So you have to constantly flip back and forth learning what is what. You also need to hold a magnifying glass while doing this. I know this sounds like a lot of complaining but I am just making others aware. The camera itself has a high quality look and feel as does the video.

Good quality for the price fairly simple and easy to install
So I bought this product for both my car and my partners car because we wanted to have a dash cam that showed both the front and back just for security reasons. I just bought a new car so I wanted to make sure that if anything did happen to it I would have dash cam footage especially in my neighborhood, there are a lot of accidents and break-ins. This was an extremely affordable price and for what I got I think it is pretty good quality. The screen is plenty big enough to be able to see the images of both front and the back and after reading the manual the buttons on the side as well are very easy to access and to use. Set up was fairly simple and it’s easy to plug in and starts working and showing you immediately so camera placement is very easy although cable managing might need some work and so I may have to put some tape to make sure that the wires don’t hang. The images are pretty clear for how small the screen is and it’s pretty easy to use the only thing is that I didn’t realize it does not come with a micro SD card but buying one should be easy enough. Was worth the price and looks even better than I thought it would. Overall a good product that doesn’t break my bank.
