This Apestomen hair clay works like pretty much every other hair clay out there. You take some into your hands and rub them to soften it up and make it easy to apply to your hair. It gives you plenty of time to work into your hair and style it how you want. It sets well and holds your hair in place for pretty much an entire day. I didn't notice any shininess from it. I didn't have any problems washing it out of my hair. It also has a pleasant citrus-like scent.It is fairly high price, being at the top end of the hair clay / pomade price range. It only has 2.7 ounces of product compared to the 3.0 ounces and higher of most others. While it looks to be about the same size as many others and therefor not terribly more expensive, it is deceptive and is actually a fair bit higher price.

I will definitely buy it again. Some of the nicest clay hair product I’ve ever bought. The scent is very light, personally I would’ve enjoyed more but I can’t really complain. I still think it deserves 5 stars.

Works well. application is not incredibly easy, but is consistent in application and results. Long and lightweight hold. Little to no fragrance. Will buy again.

First off, this clay is not for the weak of heart. It has a very strong hold. We're talking Mohawk strong. With that being said, I use just a tiny amount, less than a pea size, into my damp hair and work it through for a matte finish that keeps it in place all day. My nose doesn't work well, so I can't tell if it has a smell or not, so if it does, it can't be that strong. It washed right out the next day with no issue. There's a good chance I'll get this again!

This "Apes To Men" hair clay is *incredibly* strong. It is...difficult to use, you have to rub it into your hands well and may need to run damp hands through water to actually style your hair afterward. That's pretty typical of this type of product, tbh.Smells like a good product too, aka, slight scent when applying that disappears quickly. IMO, hair product scent should not linger.I do hate how every hair product is now in a tub that is deceptively bigger than the amount of product you get (this one has a fake outer wall, the actual tub inside is smaller), but they can't lie on the actual size, 2.7 ounces.

You barely need a q-tip sized dab of this to hold your hair all day or even days if you want. Throw a bit of water in your hair the next morning and it shapes right back up. It can be a little difficult to apply especially if your hair is dry. I use a drop or two of water in my palm to thin it out a bit when applying if I'm not using it right out of the shower.There's a noticeable, but pleasant, "cologne" sent to it which seems to fade somewhat quickly. I'm not much of a cologne guy, but I kind of like it.Pretty happy with this overall, works well to hold my hair and I feel like this container is going to last me half a year with how little I actually use at a time.
