Good basic biography
We live this series. Book is ok, but seems to lack the detail of some of our favorites- for instance no photos are included and details are basic where writing could be more vivid. Still a worthy read.

Little House on the Praire Author
Our daughter had to do a biography for a book report so she chose Laura Ingalls Wilder - the book author that one of her of her favorite TV shows is based on. She used the library book to do her report, but she enjoys the pride of ownership of good books which she re-reads. This book is written at the elementary school level 3rd to 5th grades. Easy to understand and provides information about her life and times without going into too much detail. This is part of a "Bobble Head" series of biographies as the students at her school refer to them.

Great little book
Perfect for younger readers. There is just enough information without overloading them. The pictures are simple yet just enough.

Perfect for your homeschool
I homeschool my daughter and this year we are reading The Little House books. We read this along with the first book and my daughter loves it. She said she learned so much.

Both my son and I loved it
Great book! It gave me pleasure and surprise to see my fourth-grade son reading this book about one of the favorite authors from my childhood. He wouldn’t put it down and now wants to read the whole Little House series, starting with the one where the family lives in a the dug-out and snakes can crawl out of the roof! I picked this book up and had fun reading it myself. Demuth hits all the high points of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s pioneer life and brings in her delightful spunky personality. (My son just said, “Don’t forget to tell about the creepy grasshoppers. Oh and the blizzard that nearly wiped out that whole town.”)

Fun family read aloud.
My whole family enjoyed reading this book and learning about Laura Ingalls Wilder. Once we finished we visited Laura’s homestead in Mansfield, Missouri where she wrote the series. They have a wonderful museum that had many displays about things we’d read about in the book.
