Definitely worth it!
Definitely worth the money! I used this while routing some foam inlays to shadow my tool boxes and it worked well. There was little to no debris outside of the routed grooves in the foam and even they were pretty clean. I suspect it would work well with wood too but the clear cover would get coated with dust and partially block the view. The cover already can be difficult to see past and a coating of dust wouldn't help. It installs easily and is secure and fairly sturdy although I wouldn't attach the hose without supporting it with your other hand while pressing the hose on. I used a Festool dust collector with it and had to have an adapter to attach the hose. I used a Festool router with the dust collection hooked up and it didn't work as well as this did but... I was using the Festool to run a 3/4" dado in plywood and the Dewalt to rout out the shape of my tools in foam. I would recommend this and buy it again.

Router Dust Collection That Works!
When I bought my DeWalt DWP611PK router (which I love), I didn't order any of the accessories for it. But, after such positive experiences with the router itself, I decided to give the accessories a shot as well. DeWalt offers four accessories for the DWP611PK ... edge guides for both the fixed base and plunge base, as well as dust collection adapters for both. I haven't had enough opportunity to use the edge guides (DNP618 for the fixed base, DW6913 for the plunge base) to give them a fair review, but I have had enough use of the dust collection accessories to comment on them. I have never been very impressed with dust collection accessories for hand-held routers ... dust collection attachments for my other routers were clumsy to use, obstructed the view of the work surface, required tools to attach/detach, and generally resulted in quite a bit of dust and debris in the air and around the work area. By contract, these both do a superb job. They are easy to attach/detach (using easy to manage thumb screws), take standard 1.25" hoses, and are clear plastic so they don't obstruct your view. And they do a terrific job of removing debris from the surface you are routing without cluttering the work area. I did a bunch of template routing last week (routing tracks for tambours on some cabinets I am building for holiday gifts) with the plunge base. The DNP616 fully encloses the area around the bit inside the plunge base, and despite plowing through a bunch of hard maple, no dust made it to the bench and the work surface remained clear. I had a similar experience with the DNP615 in the fixed base routing rabbets inside a door frame. The dust collection attachment essentially turns the router base into a closed chamber so there is virtually no place for dust to escape. Gord Graff did an excellent review of the DeWalt DWP611PK (see: [...] )... suggest you check out Gord's review for more info on the router itself.

Works for certain tasks...
I recently picked up the Dewalt compact router and thought I'd try some dust collection on it. Wish they included it with the router, but that seems to be the norm with all tool companies. It's a pretty heavy duty piece of plastic. Attaches easily and perfectly. Fit was not a problem. I was also able to use one of the connectors I have for my Centec hose and it fits nice and snug. Stays put. As far as how it works... I have to wonder if people are expecting this to do something it can't do, something it was not designed to do. This will NOT work for anything under the router that is out in the open. Like a flush trim bit, it's just not made to catch that dust. It doesn't work for that because all the dust and chips are going out underneath, away from the port. Same for like a edge treatment bit. There are other dust collection devices for that kind of work. But, it does work for say carving out a tray. I posted a picture using a straight bit inside the work. You do need to kind of move it around to get everything, but it sucked all the dust out, nothing was left. So it works for that type of application. It's kind of a limited to what it can do. But it most certainly works. What I don't like about it, is the design. I don't understand why Dewalt is designing all their dust collection to go "up". Does not make sense. For one, it puts your host more in your way. Unless you hang your hose? Worst, you will be putting so much stress on the part every time you put on your hose. Stress on the elbow of the part, and I can see it breaking over time. Overall, it does work, if you don't expect it to do something it can not do, the price is not bad and my hose adapter fits. Even though it's not perfect, I am happy I have it.

Does well for my needs
Easy install and fits well. I'm using on my DeWalt router that I have mounted in a DIY router table. I made the table so that this could be used to reduce dust. It works attached to one of my shop vacs. Well worth the price.

Works but Leaves a Lot to be Desired
Pros: Fits Dewalt palm sander well and easy to install. Compatible with Powertec 70257 hose system which allows easy hook up to a Rigid five gallon shop vac or others with a 2 1/4” hose diameter. Cons: Best case scenario picks up 50% or less of material discharged by router with a rabbet bit. Have not used with other types of router bits but other reviewers say it is even less effective with other type bits. Collection portal is on the opposite side of the router where the material is forcefully discharged. This results in the vacuum system fighting a losing battle against the discharge force of the router even though my shop vac is very powerful. Hose system is difficult to work with unless it can be suspended from above the work surface. Included pictures show how much material (MDF) was left on router table that was not captured by the vacuum system vs how much material was actually captured and deposited in shop vac. 50% is a generous estimation and this doesn’t take into consideration the material that was blown out the open garage door with a fan that was on while working. Overall Evaluation: Since MDF material is so fine and very hazardous to the respiratory system I will continue to use, with a fan, an open garage door if possible and a respirator. Effectiveness of the system is marginal but maybe worthwhile.

It works great!
A perfect fit on my Dewalt trim router. Dust collection works great when doing template cuts, grooves, etc where the bottom part is “enclosed.” And not so good when edge trimming as the router bit shoots the dust side ways faster than it could be sucked through the top. Feels like it’s made more for the former, which I’m still happy with. When cutting grooves, it makes a world of difference. For the price, it’s a must-have, I think.

Great Fit
Came in a timely manor and was packed nicely which always appreciated. Bought this for my DeWalt DW611 router and it's fit great. The plastic was thick enough not to be brittle or delicate, though you still have to be aware of it's limits like anything else. The screws are a challenge to get lined up and threaded down properly. It's a tight space and I would've designed it differently myself, but over all it's a good purchase. The hose end adapter has two sizes but only air flow is only for the smallest one. I will be taking a dremel tool to that later on and cutting it out, for more air flow. So, it's great and I'm happy.

Vac housing
It bolts on quickly and works well for the applications that I want to keep the dust down. If you want the most agility with this router I don’t recommend any attachments.

Doesn’t do much
Minor improvement on dust collection, not worth the money or the time to put it on and off
